Yeah But the differance is Eastenders Built up it's vieweing Figures by simply having adverts running but good lead up storylines
Corrie will no doubt get a bit of help from xfactor or IAC or something

Im not sure on the actual figure but i think the corrie LIVE episode could pip EastEnders but the corrie's Live episode will no where near reach 22million or whatever it was for reapts and online viewings

Wow that is a very low mark. I still enjoyed the episode. It wasn't as good as last week but still provided some good Saturday night entertainment. I reckon it will top 10m.

Im sure its been planned from the moment they saw the overnights for Eastenders live episode. Its the only way they could possibly challenge the 16m that EE got. I can imagine both shows want the bragging rights for their respective anniversary shows.

Do you actually watch Corrie? The last few weeks have been quite good. I'm sure by December the show will hopefully be at its best for the LIVE episode. I've only seen 4 weeks worth of episodes this year since i got back so don't really know what the show has been like since November 2009. Just read alot of bad reviews but the ratings are still up on last year by average I believe.

when is Myfamily back?
It seems they are not showing the final 2 episodes

On My Virgin guide it's got Waterloo road down as a 3 parter only and is being shown on Weds and Thurs next week

So I wonder how The Bill on Tuesday and Last of the summers wine last episode tommorow can rate as both were quite big at one time and im sure older viewers might tune in

I noticed corrie is on tommorow is that just an Extra episode?

Corrie should have a good year this year, and a good anniversy episode, its 50 years old for christ sakes, I dont watch it, but I know that 50 years is quite an impressive milestone.

the EE Live episode was planned far far in advance, than the impression I get from ITV takling about a live Corrie episode.

Yeah and no
I don't record it or anything but i tend to see quite a bit of it
on Mondays and Fridays as it's on before EastEnders
and i've seen alot of the big episodes in the past which i've praised

Out of all 8 soap or however many it is
Corrie is the only one i've never got into and is the only one i've never really watched at any given time(i mean Like a fan)

To maximise ratings, Corrie should schedule their live episode on the Monday following the anniversary (assuming the tram crash happens actually on the anniversary)

A specially written 40 minute episode at 7.30pm followed by a 15 minute behind the scenes programme and then back again for a second 35 minute long live episode at 8.25pm would go down a treat.

We heard about EastEnders LIVE almost a year before it aired(well last May i think)
But Santer kept Banging on months before that,that the 25th will Be massive and they have loads planned

I get the feeling the Corrie 50th episodes is going to be one of those situations in this thread where large ratings get slated.

A bit like The X Factor where a rating of over 10m generates more negative anti-ITV posts than the ratings news for Odd One In and Magic Numbers 3 weeks ago.

Don't be stupid ITV don't seem to work like that now adays
They will likley have a Big reality show ending that week too.

Doesn't matter anyway Becuase EastEnders at xmas allready looks massive

Personally I am hoping that the BBC 4 Corrie drama outrates whatever rubbish is on ITV 1 when it airs, but does not outrate BBC 1.

I am also sure Corrie will do there own Eastenders Live: The Aftermath on ITV 2.

The live episode was announced in September - so roughly five months beforehand.

Without Katy Perry it would have been a 2!

I thought it was lacking in everything tonight so couldn't rank it much higher than that. Even Simon wasn't on form.

Probably what they will do. Or schedule it around a special extra X Factor. Shame it can't get high ratings on its own in its own slot. I didn't see the BBC changing or extending the time slot for EE Live. Though I suppose Corrie no longer has fixed time slots so can justify going anywhere; not like viewers give a shit either if ratings are anything to go by.

I think The tram storyline was enough to secure them 13million at best
but Clearly they wanted EastEnders style ratings and have gone for the Live episode

I do see Corrie beating it purely due to the fact
it will no doubt get a bit of promotion via the xfactor and will also be part of ITV's big week with IAC final
Plus December it's dark and cold
