Poor for Corrie last night, I think that's among its five worst rated episodes. The temporary episodes usually rate much better on Wednesdays than Sundays so I think they should've had the one-off episode then, rather than yesterday.
Good rating to finish with for Summer Wine. It's been given an excellent slot this series and pulled in a solid audience throughout. I'd like to see more pre-watershed sitcoms (especially older-skewing ones) scheduled on Sundays sandwiched between Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow, it just seems a really good fit.

Its not a good idea to post anything in the Dr Who forums suggesting you dont think the ratings were good I have found.

Yes its curious that its had a primetime berth when for the last few years its been pushed and pulled around -though this series has been a step up on the last five years.

Channel 4 scored a major own goal last night, they should have gone with:
8.00pm- Paralympics thing
9.30pm- Big Brother
10.30pm- Alan Carr
BB & Alans show would both be about half a million up that way.
Will be interesting how Transformers and Pursuit of Happyness do for Channel 4 and Five. Transformers I can see getting over 3m while Pursuit of Happyness 1.5-2m, depending on heavily Five trailer it this week.

Good send off for LOTSW but I think the Beeb could have made more of it had they really given a fig about it.
I'd hoped it would beat Corrie, but I guess we'll have to wait for the officials to see if it does or not.
Very upsetting to see that TXF has lost half its ITV2 audience the day after losing 10pc of its ITV1 numbers. Probably means more "crisis" stories splashed across this week's tabloids/chav shows...

It looks exactly the same as our current version, and the more I see and hear about it, the more I think it'll be a hit. The UK show is practically unrecognisable now from its first series and is now a much better show, and thins looks like a much better show than the 2005 version, with much better judges.
If they've removed all footage of the original host are they just making out there was no host present at the auditions? Probably for the best as changing the host at judges houses on screen would be very messy.
How do you think it will rate? I would hope for around 1.5m, which is about what AGT was getting this year although hopefully it'll skew younger.

Longest-running series tend to get defined in terms of years, not episodes, though.
Last of the Summer Wine is defined in terms of years.

Yes I think that's right. I noticed in the brief flashes to the friends and family watching in the wings that the host is nowhere to be seen in the few shots shown. Presumably he was stood with them like Dermot in our version.
Daybreak promos have started airing and from the general theme of the adverts it looks as though they're picking up where GMTV left off but they aren't going to pretend to be a news show. Speaking of which, does anyone know if the GMTV ratings stayed up from the random spike the other day, or have they gone back down again?

I have found that in the past.
Surely Coronation Street will not become the longest running soap on Sept 18th as the other two US shows will still have run for 7 and 4 years longer than it.
It will be the longest running soap that is still on air, though. But not become the longest running until 2017.
I also think the Doctor Who series split is a good idea - especially if the alleged spoiler in the Sun today is true.
But it also allowed the time for Steven Moffat to do the new Sherlock episodes in the summer break as he was concerned about having time to do both otherwise.

I think Xtra Factor starts at the same time as the live shows, unlike over here where it runs during the auditions as well.
Some are quite rightly pointing out that Xtra Factor could be better suited to 7Mate (Seven's new digital channel) than 7Two, which normally airs British drama like Heartbeat on Sundays/Mondays and is older skewing.
