19:30 The X Factor 1.48m
20:30 Packed to the Rafters 1.85m

Nine
18:00 Nine News 1.39m
18:30 A Current Affair 1.41m
19:00 Two and a Half Men (R) 1.22m
19:30 Top Gear 1.40m
21:00 Bermuda Triangle Exposed 1.05m

Ten
18:00 The Simpsons (R) 0.64m
18:30 Neighbours 0.65m
19:00 The 7pm Project 1.00m
19:30 Modern Family 1.24m
20:00 Modern Family (R) 1.07m
20:30 NCIS (R) 0.92m

Much more like it from The X Factor. Top Gear held up well though and beat it in the demos. Excellent for Rafters as always.

Interesting to see the Bermuda doc doing well. Did well for Five as well not so long ago.

What would they do with Holby City then? That seems to dip without the EastEnders lead in.
Do i really need to explain that one?
Thursday at 8:00pm it could hold up well against Emmerdale after an EastEnders lead in

EDIT-The Bill is trending on twitter

Bit of a risk to chuck Holby - a homegrown show as it were - against the soap hour while a show bought over from another channel as it were gets a plum slot.

Not really
Did Holby allways have the Tuesday slot?
I do remember it moving to Thursdays for Holby Blue

Yes, and Holby Blue struggled while Holby City lost viewers, and this was without the Emmerdale/Coronation Street opposition (it was up against The Bill then).

It still had Top Gear to contend with. Some are saying it may have been boosted by the lead-out effect due to Rafters on directly after but I doubt that alone can explain a 300,000 rise in one night.

So I'll stick up for The X Factor here and say that 1.48m is a good result in Total People. Shame about the demos but it was always going to be difficult to skew younger than Top Gear. Where we go from here as far as I'm concerned is still up in the air.

20:00 Modern Family (R) 1.07m
20:30 NCIS (R) 0.92m
A few things:

- I'm glad XF has done well, 7 have got great ratings anyway

- Top Gear held up against XF, but it's strong anyway so was sure to win the demos.

- Neighbours is still at the 650k mark even after the announcement, there still might be life in it even though it's moving to 11.

- Why run a previous episode of Modern Family after a new one? Continuity anyone??

Strange because it would have still followed EastEnders
I can't understand why the BBC moved Waterloo road out to Wednesdays with no lead in at all
but it is on Thursday also this week going against Emmerdale/Corrie and im Sure Holby couldn't do much worse.

Whille on the subject has there been any word on BBC1HD yet?

I think he'll have made them do the auditions/live shows etc in exactly the same way.

I guess they hope that people won't notice and stay watching thinking it is a new episode!

They do the same thing with The Simpsons and oddly the repeats rate better than the new episodes, even though they are billed clearly as "All New Simpsons."

Someone has posted whole episodes on YouTube, search for it before it gets blocked lol. From what i've seen you could almost mistake it for the UK version if it was not for the Oz accent and judges. It has everything down a T i think the expression is. Simon also appeared on one of the audition promo things to get people to apply

Does anyone know how Gillette Soccer Saturday fared on its first week not on Freeview?

ITV had/have a shaky schedule on Tuesday night which Holby City benefits from. They must've thought it was Christmas early when they moved Holby City away from the night.

Thursday's have normally been stronger for ITV, hence Holby City saw a slip when moving there.

Do you know how Parenthood got on on 7 at 9.30, Dancc? It's just it was promoted heavily during The X Factor.

Here's a 15 minute breakdown for The X Factor Australia:

7.30pm-7.45pm - 1,232,000
7.45pm-8.00pm - 1,277,000
8.00pm-8.15pm - 1,422,000
8.15pm-8.30pm - 1,579,000
8.30pm-8.45pm - 1,972,000

It overran to about 8.38pm. The average at the top of the page takes that into account.

Looks like it definitely got boosted by people tuning in early for Rafters. However it averaged 1.31m over the first 45 minutes which is still a fair bit higher than last night.

Parenthood: 0.92m.

Thanks. How does that rate against the other shows on at the time?

You're welcome.

It beat Ten's second NCIS repeat of the night. (0.81m)

It had no direct competition from Nine so can't compare, but a good rating I'd say.

Not that I am claiming to be an expert (!) but we were discussing this earlier actually and we think just under 400,000.

(It was getting over 600,000 with Freeview)

Cheers. I guess it's good that Seven actually used the Packed to the Rafters lead in on a new programme
