According to The daily star the storyline had to be changed last week becuase it was unrealisitc as viaducts doesn't collapse as they are expected quite a lot

Good show from Dragon's Den last night (yes, I'm on the ball as always ) and Big Brother didn't slip despite the complaints it would do after what happened Friday. ITV finishing fourth in it's slot is unusual. Even on a Tuesday night it doesn't often dip that far.

I'm sure most people are mature enough not to make that joke in the first place.

I'll give you that one and I didn't think when i typed that and seemed quite funny at the time but thinking about it,it really wasn't

I think Big Brother will peak around 6m tonight, with around 5m tuning in from 10pm.

The line up isn't the best, but with two more past housemates and a possible twist on Friday, I do think the next two weeks are very capable of gaining 3.5m +.

I'd have swapped Ulrika and Makosi for Kate (BB3) and Aisleyne (BB7) which I think would have made a huge improvement to the lineup.

Why are you always so pro BBC and anti ITV? Eastenders only over took corrie since the live episode anyway, before that corrie was wiping the floor with it(ratings wise)

This Coronation Street vs Eastenders point scoring is becoming tiresome now!

Good average for Big Brother - over a million up from last year's final. Similar to how this year's CBB final rated. BB11's overnight series average was 2.5m (13%), up from last year's 2.2m (12%) average.

I can't believe some quizshow is beating Home and Away in the ratings and as for Neighbours lol that's embarrassing

Very good rating considering it was over 3 hours. Will be interested to see the breakdown, because I can see a peak of over 5 million.

BB peaked at 4.6m.

It won the 9pm - 10pm slot.

The Deep (BBC1) - 3.5m
The Bill (ITV1) - 3.4m

The Deep's heading into axe land, and will probably get beaten by The Bill next week.

Surprised that Big Brother's peak isn't over 5m, which suggests (surprisingly) that it was relatively steady over the 3 hours.

Thanks. Good peak for BB and The Bill held up quite well considering. I think next week's final episode will get between 4-4.5m.

Do you have a breakdown for yesterday's BB ?

Very pleased with the BB rating - I expect there was quite an increase between the actual BB11 Final and the launch of UBB, more people seemed to be interested in that.

4m is excellent considering the length and it was no doubt dragged down by the BB11 final. Great peak too. I think it will hover in the low 3m range just as CBB did earlier this year and will probably end with around 4.5m-5m in 2 and a half weeks time. If it manages to do that then I think it will seal its fate on Channel 5. Whether or not its a good move is a different argument but I imagine C5 are now even more interested.

If only they had split the shows in two. It would be interesting to see 8pm - 9.45, then 9.45 onwards

Surely The Deep was always intended to be a one-series-only drama?

And the BBC clearly knew they had a turkey on their hands, hence the reason they
a) ran it at the height of Summer and
b) screened it weekly rather than stripped, which was obviously the original plan. (If TV bosses commission a 5 part drama, then they want to strip it - new unwritten TV rule.)


Incidentally - Bucket Of Barbed Wire (a new comedy about incest by the writer of Keeping Up Appearances) starting on ITV1 on Monday 6th September - is this a 3 part drama and does anyone know if it's running weekly or daily?

Excellent figures for Big Brother. But good also for The Bill to rise week-on-week in spite of the intense competition from C4. I think it's going to go out on a high next week.

That will be "a high" relative to its crappy performance over the last 12 months.

Place your bets as to which will rate higher - the final episode of "The Bill" or "The Very Last Of The Summer Wine" as the BBC have chosen to list it.

And relative to absolutely everything else that ITV have put out on a Tuesday at 9pm in the last 12 months that has also rated crappy, yes.

Actually the highest it has been for a final in recent years is 6m which was the CBB5 final, BB8 and 9 both got about 5m. So if it can finish with 4.5m then thats definitely going out on a high irrespective of the shows performance over the past year.
