I'm not an ITV basher but that is quite disgusting.

“Not sure what the slot average is, but ITV's best performer in that slot, Loose Women, averaged 14.5% for its latest series.. DD's done alright to hold onto its audience since the first episode but I dunno if it'll get another series because its figures look pretty average.”

If Dinner Date gets another series, it will almost certainly be in the 2pm hour and be paired up with House Guest, House Gift, 60 Minute Makeover and the like.

I reckon UBB will not go near 3m tonight, because of the match, which i think will get 5m+

The mind boggles. The bit about the celebrity being "encouraged" to give up to £5000 to the homeless person is particularly weird-like giving a dog chocolate drops for good behaviour or how much washing up the homeless person does? Well hopefully not but it does rather bring more uncalled for employment for the modern day definition of celebrity.

Pray this isnt a hit or ITV could broadcast an audition stage.

Only one ITV football related term trending on Twitter tonight. Actually, scrap that: only one ITV related term trending and that happens to be Daybreak...

There's obviously something very wrong with Twitter's Trending Topics list because Daybreak's had just 15 mentions in the last 40mins whereas Defoe has been mentioned over 15 times in the last 40 seconds. Basically, since Twitter changed their algorithm for the trending topics earlier this year, the lists have often been wrong!

Ha, yeah - indeed.

I can't believe bookmakers actually have a market open for Daybreak's ratings next week: http://www.oddspreview.com/category/...-201009030021/

"Boylesports offer 7/4 that the new show performs better in the ratings for BBC's One Show."

Poor odds!

Thursday nights have been a very great night for Lifetime and MTV.

Link: http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/09/03...-viewers/62135

Project Runway (Lifetime) has received 4.002m (1.7) for their latest episode last night. According to press releases, this is the show's highest rated episode since the sixth season finale (in the demos).

Link 2: http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/09/03...own-more/62152

Jersey Shore (MTV) is reaching new highs to new surprising levels. They could challenge TNT's The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles next week, should they keep the momentum. Last night, the show has attracted 6.536m and a very high 3.3 in 18-49.

Why do we use twitter to try and guess ratings? A few thousand people tweeting rubbish is not a good indication of how many are watching what. I have tried twitter and i just don't see the point of it. I might as well just a wear F*** Me t-shirt and hope for the best.

Hmmm, ITV are trying to rip off Famous, Rich and Homeless then. I thought they had worked their way out of the 'celebrities in everything' phase but obviously it hasn't quite been quelled yet.

Waterloo Road and the soaps hurt each other last night. Watchodg won't be any easier for Emmerdale and Coronation Street to compete against. Stunned at Motorway Cops ratings - imagine what a top drama would've got for BBC1 last night! Big Brother did ok once again.

Jersey Shore is a monster hit although I believe True Blood skews a little younger, it's still impressive. This sort of show seems to work better in America than it does here although ITV2 are doing an Essex docusoap and Channel 4 a Notting Hill docusoap, I don't them having the same effect.

Surprised no terrestrial broadcaster has picked it up, I could see it doing well on ITV2, E4 or Fiver, even 4Music or Viva would be ideal.

No sign of Daybreak odds on boylesports website, they have got x factor, MTV VMA's & Must Be The Music odds though.

As breakfast tv is quite long and also repeated throughout, news features etc maybe it ought be cut into smaller 30min chunks for ratings?

Ultimate Big Brother was BB at it's very worst tonight and made for uncomfortable viewing for various reasons. They built these characters up only to tear them down. This series was supposed to be a celebration not a witchhunt. Crowd must go if BB ever returns, final excluded.

Some Strictly Come Dancing news... Sunday results show is confirmed. They'll be 30-minutes long and will be presented by Tess and Claudia (Bruce is only doing the Saturday shows).

According to articles the first live show is on Friday 1st October, 2nd live show is Saturday 2nd October. No results show on the 3rd. The points will be carried over to the following Saturday when they perform again and on Sunday 10th October the first results show will take place.

If the first show is on a Friday, does that mean New Tricks will be moved/delayed mid-series? Nice work BSI ! Hopefully that's just an error in the article.

If they can't get rid of them, maybe have a smaller audience. American BB has the audience in one space similar to how they do Big Mouth but that may be a worse idea.

Speaking of American BB, it continues to do well over there, wonder if the different format has played a part in its success as the public aren't involved in the voting. Doubt CBS would move it out of summer as they don't have the space in the schedule plus it flopped the last time it was aired in regular primetime.

After tonight I sincerely hope BB never returns.

I know their are reasons for it (Bruce's age etc.) but surely it is going to be very odd having him only do Saturdays?

May be somewhat controversial but if he is unable to be present for both shows then perhaps they should have found a replacement?

I don't blame you for feeling that way. There does seem to be something intrinsically wrong with it nowadays, doesn't there? It needs a good long rest if nothing else.

Not sure who could replace Bruce but it should be a male presenter rather than one of the dancers like Anton Du Beke or Graham Norton who I like on his chatshow but he doesn't fit into SCD at all. Barrowman would be okay but it depends on his schedule.

I am absolutely appalled by the brief for this show.

Is there anything of note on October 3rd that would prevent Strictly from airing on that date?

Time to pull the plug on this dated, predictable and nasty programme. It's lost over half its audience now, only the Daily Star seems interested( and even then not as much as 2 years ago) and the housemates know how to work the show. Apart from the hardcore fans who populate the BB forum on here, no one will really miss it and I don't think Five will consider it.

Firstly, I didn't see UBB last night - what happened that was so awful? I would ask in the BB forum but I think you all know what that place is like!

That ITV celebrity show with homeless people sounds absolutely hideous - I do hope it's just a rumour and that it doesn't actually happen. Exploitative trash.

As for Strictly, why can't the first week also have Saturday and Sunday shows instead of Friday and Saturday so that New Tricks isn't interrupted? Also, those result shows sound crap, half an hour isn't really long enough if it's on a second night, yet getting rid of the dance off will actually make even that drag. They really should have the same presenter for both nights too, if Brucie can't do the Sunday show then he shouldn't do it at all. I guess they're still pre-recording it too, which isn't great either.
