As someone else said a few days ago, your posts always make me chuckle, Iain.
Excellent for X Factor, and that share is simply superb. It seemed to boost Odd One In and Bourne too, both of which got very respectable figures, and 4.5m for a 2 hour movie on ITV is pretty impressive. Not sure if Odd One In's done enough to return though. Casualty did well for BBC1 but a dreadful evening for them elsewhere, with the Lottery show bombing dreadfully. Big Brother did badly as usual, C4 will be glad to get rid of it next week.

I also wonder if Odd One In has done enough for another series? Obviously over 4m looks OK on paper, but if most of that is as a result of XF, then maybe not. ITV should get even stronger next week with the return of Family Fortunes.”
X Factor was very good last night, and it was much better than last week's weak effort. Worth noting that the two episodes were supposed to air the other way around; looks like the swap benefited them as the better episode got the larger audience.
Next week will be interesting, largely due to 71 Degrees North, as ITV will be desperate for it to do well so they could have a returning hit reality show, and it could also finally get them some decent ratings on Tuesdays. Strictly will probably get about 6m for the launch show, and Merlin will get its usual 5-6m after it, and shouldn't be dented by X Factor. As you say, Family Fortunes should boost ITV and bring in a solid 4.5-5.5m.
