Nearly every post on twitter is positive and i've popped onto the EastEnders facebook and theres loads of casual EastEnders viewers on their prasing it
36 pages for the episode thread on DS which i think beats the Live one”

The live episode thread had over 70 pages before the episode had even finished.

The Live episode was Edge of the seat stuff Because you didn't know who the killer was and if anyone would make a mistake but tonight's episode
was Dramatic,Brilliant stunts and the Camera work was done well.
Its not everyday EastEnders has a stunt on this scale and it was nice to see so many inolved in what was a fast paced episode

Yes on a technical level it was impressive. But for all the spectacle I have to disagree that it was 'dramatic' - the magic is always in the scripts and tonight it was just people running and screaming. It was really great, don't get me wrong - I did enjoy it. But I wasn't as gripped as I have been by episodes of EE past.

The place was onfire,people trapped
they were hardly going to stand there and not moved were they.
Tommorow you will see the magic in the script
and alot of the time we have these gritty storylines
so it was a nice chnage imo

The trailer shows what an overrated actress Barbara Windsor is - and how poor and repetitive the script writers are. The Mitchells pretty much ruined EastEnders.

And Babs couldn't really care less - she's probably earning more for her new ad campaign which will debut on ITV1 during Corrie tomorrow night.

I'm not usually an Eastenders fan...but used to be years ago. I watched it tonight after all the fuss around the fire but was totally shocked at how totally dreadful this programme really is....especially as it is supposed to be a BBC 1 flagship show! Peggy was dreadful...screaming the whole episode like an actress from the Blair Witch Project and as for the rest of them....pathetic, terrible acting....terrible graphics. This "programme" is a absolute insult to anyone with the slightest glimmer of intellligence. I realise I will be in the minority here but why are so many sucked in by this nonsence???

I think alot of these posts about EE should be in the episode discussion thread and not the ratings thread. Personal opinions are just clogging up the thread.

[quote=Dancc;43939114]Very poor for Home and Away yesterday. They've promoted its return as well so I can't put it down to that. Bit of a worry.

Oh for the days when it would pull in 5-6m an episode back in 2000.

To be honest, I'm convinced the ratings for Channel 5 do not include the HD channel. This has been very apparent for the Neighbours ratings which have fallen since the launch of Five HD.

On Barb, they give ratings for ITV HD but not Channel 4 or Channel 5 HD so I believe programmes on these channels are being done a huge misjustice...and could explain some of the poor Hollyoaks ratings too.

To those in the "know" about ratings...please give us some answers as to why channel 4 and channel 5 ratings are not reported as ITV 1 HD are??????

Probably because they're so low to even count.

Well you watch Nighbours so how you can talk about intellligence i'll never know
but then i guess you have to work out who Paul Robinson is going to sleep with next or how many times he can be pushed of clips, shot,Blew up in explosions, plane crash the list is endless

But from Tommorow Barbara is no more related to EastEnders.

Tommorows episode will be an emotional goodbye to peggy and ends with her version of the theme tune and then it's the start of a new era and The Mitchells won't features as much

Eastenders is just as ridiculous. All of the soaps are.

But yes, i'm sure it will get very high ratings for tonight, as they have been flogging it all over the channel for a fortnight.

No need to be mean to the poster. I watch Neighbours and realise it's a bit of harmless fun. EE for me is too serious, has too many annoying accents (and I grew up in east London) and has some awful acting (not saying Neighbours doesn't)

I thought the C4 and C5 HD ratings were included in the general figures we get for the programme, regardless of whether they were being viewed in SD or HD?

I used to watch Neighbours right from the early 90's to 2007
but it really came pathetic.
I see alot of episodes (including todays save the radio station) and there's just no drama, comedy or anything
it's like the scripts go no where and yes all soaps have bad acting but Neighbours has about half a cast full.

Now when Other soaps have big episodes i just keep my mouth shut and if i think its brilliant i will praise it.

Tonight i've seen a handfull of other soap fans just pop into the EastEnders ones to cause arguments

I agree, but they're getting into a good storyline with Paul soon, and the Libby/Steph/Toadie situation is keeping me watching.

Like all soaps, they're going through a bad phase, and like most soaps, I expect it'll bounce back (in the UK).

I think as it is Neighbours i past saving
Unlike other soaps they have changed the show far too much and now they have lost what neighbours was about.

This cheesy happy daytime show
and thats why it's lost viewers here and in Aus.

25th/6000th episode is a big thing but they are just going to go into that without anyone hardly noticing.

Corrie,EastEnders,Hollyoaks,Emmerdale have all been able to pull themselves out of a mess but they allways kept what the show was about

I expect they probably are included. Maybe not the overnights, but definitely in the official ratings published at barb.co.uk. But I agree with you there is this inconsistency about the way the HD figures are published for the different channels that really needs to be addressed. They need to decide on one way and stick to it across the board - either include HD by default where possible for everything, or keep it ALL separate. And make this clear on the website. At the moment it's a bit confusing trying to make sense of what is and isn't included and for what, which makes compiling & comparing the numbers a bit difficult at times.

So why are the ITV HD figures reported separately when it is broadcast in the same way to 4 and 5 HD? That is what I cannot understand.
