BBC1 winning all the daytime slots apart from Childrens' programming.. Breakfast holding up very well. No boost whatsoever for Daybreak despite plugging the Prince Charles interview after Corrie on Thursday.

thanks D.N.M and RZT. Homes under the hammer is still a ratings juggernaut, just behind Bargain Hunt share wise.

Rubbish ratings for BB but it doesn't really matter at this point. Great show last night anyway.

I think that's decent for Paul O'Grady. It was never going to be a huge hit but it held onto a reasonable amount of its Corrie lead-in with a tough 9pm hour. We'll see where it goes next week.

Loose Women in primetime next?”

Yeah the Paul O Grady show was like the 5.00pm show he had on Ch4 and ITV1.
I expected it to be alittle different being as it's 9:00pm but he still had the desk, the sofas arranged in the same way and everything in the same order.
Said that i did enjoy it and give me paul o grady over Jonathan Ross anyday

And this is in the big launch week, after weeks of trails, publicity and newspaper ads.

I assume ITV won't be turning away ad revenue by constantly plugging 'Maydaybreak' instead during every ad break during TXF, Corrie and EmFm ad infinitum in an attempt to get people to watch?

I think it's clear people are not interested.
There has been billboards or bus stops,Bit's in papers and mags endless Tv adverts and people are still not watching.

Yesterday during Emmerdale i think
they shown an Advert of the best bits of Daybreak of the week and what is coming next week and it looked terrible.

Adrian and Chiles were acting like Big kids
I think at that time in the moring people want to see the news and some star guests and clearly the BBC offer the best one

I think Daybreak is a work in progress and will improve in terms of content, style and ratings. But for me Breakfast is my first port of call. It feels more professional, I like its newsier feel and Bill Turnball & Sian Williams and Charlie Stayt & Susannah Reid work very well. Bill especially I think is brilliant.

POG did better than I expected. New Tricks was predictably strong. EE did well on what was a tough night.

BB held up okay. Couldn't have really expected much more than that.

Daybreak has also had digital ads on the tube so I dread to think what the marketing budget has been.

A big night for telly last night, but despite all the 'event' programming it doesn't seem like any extra people bothered to stay at home and watch the telly. About what I was expecting for BB and EE.

Interesting to know that even though the BB11 final/UBB Launch averaged 4.1m, it had a share of 18% while last night averaged less at 3.7m but had a share of 25%... and 34.1% at a peak.

Happily I don't live in those countries. And if it goes to C5 no one will notice other than the Daily Star.

I've never understood comments like that. You make it sound like BB got in your way. It was quite easy to avoid like any programme that someone does not like, it does not find you, you find it.

The anti-BB brigade have to be the most pretentious people ever. Why are you glad something you don't watch isn't on anymore for other people who like it?

She's been forced now to let it go and has pretty much said as things stand now, she probably wouldn't do it.

Also remember she's a wife and mother too - and having talked throughout this series about the big family holidays she has planned for next summer, I don't think she'd be jeopardising them for a risky return on C5.

Paul O'Grady is Paul O'Grady - you either like or you don't. Last night was exactly what you'd expect from him - and exactly what his audience would expect.

A bit underwhelming (lower than the UBB launch?) but not too surprising. Did think 4m would be broken for the second show though - it really was a fitting send off to the show, and a pretty decent showcase for Davina too, who held it together much better than I thought she would.

BB is a different case though. If you don't like a programme like Waterloo Road say, it is indeed easy to avoid it; you just don't watch and it passes you by.

However, BB isn't just a programme that you can change channel to avoid. It infiltrates the media and becomes a part of society while its on. Admittedly, its effect in that way has diminished over recent years but it's still there. It isn't so easy to avoid BB as it is other shows you don't like. X Factor, of course, has a similar effect.

Thanks to MattJ for the ratings”

Well...what an interesting set of ratings. Looks like it was only Emmerdale that came off unscathed as it wasn't up against anything different.

The EE rating is pretty poor IMO. I was expecting more but with the 2nd Corrie and BB Final to contend with maybe this was the most we could have asked for.

NT did pretty much what i expected. PoG performed about 0.5m higher than what i thought. The rating for the second Corrie is very poor but factoring everything in this was OK in the circumstances. I'm expecting a massive time shift for the 2nd episode. Maybe closer to 7m in the officials. Will be back to 9m+ on Monday!

And finally, UBB. Thought a few more would have tuned in to be honest since it was the last one ever!

If EE's rating was 'pretty poor', what would you call Corrie's 2nd episode rating?

And i bet you expected more than 8.9m for the episode?

Oh yeah, so you did. My bad.

I still don't understand how the top rated show of the night with a peak audience of 9.4m can be described as pretty poor. It was never going to get higher than that considering the competition, I'm surprised it got as high as it did.

I predicted 5.6m for Corrie's 2nd episode and I'm not surprised it was so low. The 2nd episode on Friday has been known to be the lowest of the week sometimes rating ~7m. Considering BBC1 averaged around 6m from 8.30-9pm and all those viewers were soap fans, Corrie was always going to fall below 6m because there's a huge crossover audience between Corrie/EE and considering Corrie didn't have anything big on the viewers weren't going to switch over to ITV1 at 8.30pm. Add the BB final to the equation and it's actually surprising Corrie wasn't lower.
