Is there a new version about to be released in a few weeks where I will regret not waiting?

Ta!

Have bookmarked that so I can keep checking.

I take it it is more or less a yearly cycle, so something should be released in the next few weeks?

Yes a new version with a (video) camera is rumoured to be announced very soon.

I'm pretty clumsy so would never buy anything with 'touch' technology. Strangely I keep running into people with cracked screens and its put me off

You can't really break a touchscreen display only by touching it. You have to drop it or something. And then it really does not matter if the device has a touchscreen display or not.

Also you are better not to buy the very bottom model as that tends to be last years just like they do with the iPhone.

But yeah you are better to wait as Apple refresh their iPods every September with rumours pointing to the 7th this year.

Ta. I was going to go with the 32GB model out of the current range. So will see what the equivalent is when the refresh happens.

Hello Gormy btw, not seen you in C&N in ages!

Do places like Argos generally get them in right away or do you have to wait until the catalogue changes? (I have a some vouchers and nectar points that will get me £110 of it if I get it from Argos you see!)

Cool. I doubt they keep that many in stock really. Wouldn't have thought so anyway. Might have to wait a few weeks I guess but rather that than get an old model.

I take it you can see the model number without opening the box? So I could ask them to get one and I can check it before I buy it.

edit - in fact just checked and there is only 1 left in stock at my local Argos.
