When typing to find a programme my Foxsat freezes everytime I press the search button. I have to disconnect box and reboot...anyone else having this problem?

Someone else has had the problem. It appears to be broadcaster related, as by manually tuning only the SD transmissions the problem subsides, but is again apparent if the HD mux is tuned.
Are you by chance receiving from Mendip or its dependant relays?

Edit: discussion on Hummy.org

From what I read this problem only occurs on boxes where you are in a transmitter overlap area and picking up signals from two different transmitters.

As I do not, the feature works flawlessly for me.

No the problem now appears to be due to changes in the way that the EPG is being transmitted from some transmitters. Currently reports suggest it affects Mendip and Crystal Palace.

Ah, ok. Situation must have changed since I first read about this problem.

I receive from Sandy Heath so that would explain why I have (so far, touch wood) been unaffected.

I am sure whatever it is will certainly be fixed in the next firmware upgrade.

Just to add to the info - my Humax T2 is also freezing when doing a keyword search - Blackhill transmitter.

From the reports over at hummy.org.uk, it looks like a new format of SI data is being rolled out across ALL transmitters via a rollout programme, the Admin over there has posted this:

As more transmitters are switched to the new SI format on the HD mux, expect to see more reports.

Whilst I am not at liberty to detail the roleout plan, I will confirm whether a transmitter has been 'upgraded' to this new SI if someone reports a problem, so they do know it is not something they are doing wrong.
From that thread, it appears that Humax are aware of the issue, it's stated on that thread that they will have a fix "in a few weeks".

For reference, this is the relevant thread:

It would appear that this freezing issue is also going to affect the HD-Fox - mine now freezes on an EPG search (Sutton Coldfield).

This is related to the rollout of the Freeview HD content controls, I gather.

More details at http://gonedigital.net/2010/08/26/fr...on-rolled-out/
