Gateshead vs Barrow has been called off for tomorrow night.
Shame, I was really looking forward to that one. |

On page 3 and not a post for nearly a week.
Has Non League been totally wiped out by the white stuff That said, it does seem like ages since I've taken a game in. |

The trouble with all this non football due to the white stuff means that the old problem will hit Grimsby town as it so often does: Just before the next game whenever and wherever that may we will get at least three key players out with injuries whilst training. Does this happen to any other teams or is just a Grimsby thing?

FA Trophy last night, not the greatest display in the world and ground out a 2-2 draw with Southport.

Well done Chasetown for beating Ketering and now it's a home game with Grimsby Town so my question is: What is the ground capacity at Chasetown?

Academy are doing a fancy dress fund-raiser tomorrow which I'm taking photos at, one player just put a request up for any girls who own a Tu Tu, so this should be fun!

Good win for Woking today against Havant, a lot of praise must go to the groundsman and volunteers who got the pitch ready, only game on in the Conference!

How's your pitch looking for the match against us (York) on Saturday?

Gateshead are expecting the match to go ahead, but an inspection has been called for as a precaution. |

Cool. That sounds hopeful, and we're not setting off until a few hours later.
Hoping to bring a thousand, although it's a bit "strange" with all the postponements and the FA Cup third round next Saturday (taking 5,000 to Bolton), so might be less with the distractions. |

From the website: Quote:
Following the 9:30am pitch inspection, part of the pitch is currently waterlogged. There will be a further inspection at 11am, to see whether this afternoon's game between Gateshead and York can go ahead.
For both ourselves and the travelling York fans, I hope this game goes ahead. We've not played a league fixture for six weeks.

and again from the website ![]() Quote:
Following a further inspection by the referee there has been sufficient improvement in the condition of the pitch, therefore this afternoon's game at home to York City is ON, kick-off 3pm. Game on The groundstaff have been working tirelessly since 9:30am and will continue to do so up until kick-off.

Gateshead 0-3 York City
![]() Will be interesting to see what Eugenespeed made of it, but here's my biased view. Well done to Gateshead for getting the game on, but was still a bog, which doesn't help our passing game. Big gamble resting our best player (Till) as he comes back from an ankle knock, and McDermott and Rachii on the bench too, but worked out in the end. Was reasonably open for the first part, though looked like there was always goals there for us. Nelthorpe gets himself sent off for a terrible challenge on our young striker on loan from Leicester City. No surprise at all, given we let him go after his assault charges in court. Strange as we got him from Oxford and heard he was very skillful. Never played for us after getting sent off in 2009-2010 preseason for nutting someone, and I see he's not changed. Utter mental case. Should have gone into the break in the lead, not sure how we didn't, mainly from crap finishing as Gateshead keeper never seems to come for balls and looked very dodgy, but then just stepped it up a bit in the second and should have had more than three. Gateshead scrambled one on to the post when we were 2-0 up (didn't really see it), but that seemed to be it from them. Trying to find something positive for Eugenespeed, but I assume the lack of games didn't help and York do have a massive all weather plus an indoor facility at their disposal for keeping the training up during silly weather. Starting to make up ground on the playoff chase after the Wembley hangover started us off horrendously. 800 minutes without conceding, five wins and a draw from the last six. Annoyingly we were all over Luton prior to that getting adandoned in the second half. Fleetwood on Monday, then Bolton away in the FA Cup third round. |

Nothing really I can see Launch Fan. We were clearly out played.
Yes, we've not played since November, which would have had something to do with it, but on the day we were bettered by the clearly better team. Not a performance I'm proud of really. At least though, we managed to get a game again, hopefully we improve now as the fixtures continue. |

We're still top after a last minute winner at Prescot, didn't look like we would win on a dreadful pitch but we pulled it out, 6pts clear at the top.
Large travelling support swelled the crowd to four figures. |
