Ryman Prem: Sutton appear to be favourites for the title, leading Southern Div 1 Mids champions Bury by seven points from a game more (Jamie Scowcroft plays for Bury). Tonbridge Angels in third are four points behind Bury with a game in hand. Billericay are in good form right now, upto fourth. Ryman Div 1 Nth champs Lowestoft, going for a third successive promotion, are fifth, now fourteen points behind Sutton, but with three games in hand.
A number of teams chasing the playoff chasers, but Billericay and Bury aside they've mostly played more games. Div 1 Nth playoff winners Concord (from Canvey Island) lead te charge, along with Kingstonian, Cray Wanderers, Canvey Island themselves, Harrow who have two games in hand, AFC Hornchurch and possibly Wealdstone.
With an eight point gap between fifth and sixth bottom it looks like a maximum of four from five to go down. Crisis hit Croydon Athletic (now run by the Danes who tried to take over the former Chester City!) prop up the table, though would be out the drop zone if they hadn't got three points deducted. Croydon level on points with Maidstone and Div 1 Sth champs Folkestone. Aveley (who have struggled this season since super boss Rod Stringer left to join Braintree along with most of the squad) are now only in the drop zone on goal difference to Hastings, and have two games in hand.
Div 1 Nth: The expunging of Leytons results means its tighter at the top. Eastern Counties Champs Needham Market are still favourites, but the leaders have stuttered a bit of late. They are now just two points clear of East Thurrock with a game in hand.
Upto eleven teams chasing the playoff places. Wingate & Finchley and Maldon & Tiptree are a fair few points clear of the rest, but the latter have played far more games than anyone else, and the chasing pack of Romford, Brentwood, Enfield Town, Heybridge, Harlow, AFC Sudbury, Potters Bar, Waltham Abbey and Grays, are all looking to pounce. Romford despite some recent poor results, have the best advantage in fifth, with many games still in hand.
So with Leyton gone, only one team max will go down. With Redbridge and Tilbury eight points up the road it seems it will be a showdown between incredibly two teams who share the same ground! Waltham Forest are tenants at Ilfords ground, as their previous ground is still not upto step 4 standards (it is still used though by a number of Essex Senior League teams) and are just a point behind them.
Div 1 Sth: Perhaps a two-way fight for the title. Bognor, relegated for the past two seasons, hope to move back up a league immediately, as they lead the way, but Met Police are only four points behind with two games in hand. Sussex League champs Whitehawk and Leatherhead look likely to secure playoff places, but are probably too far back to mount a title challenge.
As for the fnal play off place, Burgess Hill currently hold that, and though the likes of reprieved Walton Casuals (run by ex Palace player Neil Shipperley), Kent League champs Faversham, Walton & Hersham and Sittingbourne aren't far behind, 'Hill have 1-2 games in hand.
Looking dire for Horsham YMCA, heading back to the Sussex league it seems just two years after their instant but controversial return to the Ryman set-up. YMCA a huge thirteen points from safety with only twelve games left (less than the sides above). They are nine points adrift of second bottom Corinthian Casuals. This legendary club are still capble of escaping the drop, even before AGMs. Whyteleafe are four points up the road along with Godalming and Whitstable, with Chatham, Fleet and Eastbourne Town just a further point along. Chatham and Whitstable have the most to fear, having played three more games than the Casuals.
