2-0 up with 15 minutes to go, end up losing 3-2.

I know we're safe and every game now for us is meaningless, but still, that is ridiculous.

The Town got beat 2-1 by Salford, and ever since our keeper let in the goal from the halfway line he has been in awful form. Spilt the ball a few dozen times and had to make last ditch saves, ran pointlessly out the box (Almunia style) a few times, let a goal in and got a yellow card when he did it one time (Ran out, missed the ball then lunged at the back of the guys feet, and the ball bobbled in) and a few over times. Was lucky not to concede any more in the 2nd half, and we had another drunk referee. Complete joke.

Anyway, I have just paid £20 for another year of this nonsense

0-2 down against Telford today, drew 2-2, thanks in part to this stunning strike from young Adam Mann.

We're nearly there

After our win at Fylde we are three points clear and have a goal difference of eight better than Skem, just the one game left. Surely even we cant mess it up now.

Great scenes today, rare thing seing us lot happy and celebrating. If we do win it I'm wishing Fylde the best of luck in the playoffs, cracking little club.

Anyway sod the Royal Wedding, Garforth's the place to be on Friday

2-0 down after 25 minutes, end up winning 4-3 with some excellent goals, one of the greatest games I've ever seen at Woking, and such an important 3 points

A win on Saturday will put us in 3rd place, such a turn around from where we were in January!

In Conf Nth, Gloucester denied Alfreton the title, but they will surely do it at home to already relegated Redditch this weekend.
AFC Telford and Boston stuttering towards the playoffs but should be secure. Two from four then for the remaining places. Nuneaton are fourth but have the fewest games left. Guiseley are fifth with two games in hand on Nuneaton. Eastwood are just two points behind but may be ineligible for the playoffs due to ground issues. Solihull Moors after their fantastic run have just slipped off the pace lately, but are still not quite out of it.
With Redditch already down and Gainsboroughs win ensuring their survival, its a straight fight between managerless Hyde and Stafford for the other relegation place. Hyde have inched two points clear with three games left, but its too close to call.
Hyde are one point clear of Stafford in Conference North with one game left, They travel to Corby on Saturday, but they could have to rely on fierce local rivals Stalybridge Celtic beating Stafford to avoid the drop, Come on Heed!

Nice to see a local side do well, (Chester), as opposed to Nantwich who didn't have the best of seasons.

Nice to see Skelmy get booted in the teeth after a big result.

We've gone from being 6th all season to finish 9th. Bloody Hell.

Complicated situation at the bottom of the Conference
Altrincham follower here so................
Tamworth and Forest Green on 46 points will both not want to draw ( both really need to win to be sure of being safe)
Southport on 46 points are away at Kettering (Come on Kettiring)
Altrincham on 44 points could, if Eastbourne are beaten ,,in theory stay up if Southport lose and either Tamworth or Forest Green win

Bloody hell that was tense, really did crawl over the line in the end but oh well....

Unreal turnout, about 2,300 Chester fans made the trip up to Yorkshire.

Complicated more by the Conference board (which includes Peakey from FGR) saying no to Tamworth's request to sign an emergency keeper

Did you support Chester City a few years back? How different is your attendance now to how it was when you were in League 2 a few years ago, if you know? Just wondering.

Yeah

Apart from one good season under Keith Curle where we averaged about 3,000 per game, we usually got around 2,000, sometimes a few hundred over and below that. That's with league away followings mind you, this season we've averaged 2,400 with not many away fans at all.

Bye, Bye Conference
I have some sympathy for Alty supporters but only some. The team has been trying to get itself relegated for several seasons with off-field issues that have afflicted other clubs seeing Alty spared on multiple occasions when their on-filed performance warranted relegation.

Perhaps Conference North is an appropriate level for them as they look to have been overmatched in the Conference National for a long while.

How about some debate here, it seems most posts don't relate to the next which is a shame.

I'll start.

The BSS and BSN playoffs could well see Farnborough and Telford or Nuneaton promoted to the Conference National in a few weeks time.

All three of these clubs have gone bust, reformed a few leagues lower down the pyramid and could well now return back to where they once were before at the pinnacle of non-league football, but debt-free.

It seems that they can't pay their debts but can afford to pay players from above their levels so that they can waltz their way back to the top.

In essence these clubs are the same as they were before with just a different name above the door. They have the same fans, same ground and usually the same colour kits FFS!

It's wrong.

I think clubs that reform like these should be prevented from playing at their previous ground for a fixed time period as well as being relegated.

You could also include Chester with this.

I can see your point, but I don't see whats so bad about it. Old Club goes bust. New Club is formed, similar name, the kit is slightly based on the kit the first club had when they formed, and the stadium needs someone to play there. 1+1=2, give the club the stadium.

Having seen Farnborough's credit report, they seem to be heading the same way as before though

It's a difficult one, it was wrong how we were used as a play thing by Vaughan, just something to run his dodgy dealings through and a team for his two crap sons to play in.

But then I completely understand why so many fans would be unhappy with us being plonked in their division hogging up a promotion place. Having said that I've been to every game this season and virtually everyone has welcomed us with open arms. Chatting to some fans they've loved seeing their ground jam packed getting a big pay day out of it.

Chester were relegated. Last season they were playing in the blue square prem, this season they were playing in a league below that hardly anyone would know the league structure.

Stadiums don't need teams to play in though, there is a magnificent white elephant just sitting there at Sittingbourne not being used because the club pissed it's money up the wall on players they couldn't really afford.
