Not unlike Chester, Halesowen Town have been the victims of "variable" ownership of late resulting in all manner of nonsense which by and large the club, players and fans have been punished for. There is still talk that they will go under and a phoenix club will survive. It's hardly fair on the club to be punished repeatedly for the actions of poor owners - it's a matter of public record that it is the owners that created the debts and then left the club to carry the can.
Of course in Halesowen's case the club don't own the ground. It is rented from a Trust so you'd hope the Trust would give a phoenix club first refusal. |

Chester were relegated. Last season they were playing in the blue square prem, this season they were playing in a league below that hardly anyone would know the league structure.

They had a bloody good side under Martyn O'Connor and shat on him from a great height when the consortium came in with Big Ron et al and started paying out silly money to players in the Southern League. The fans too were hoodwinked and weren't strong enough. What was it? We hate Maison, a black geezer from the Luton area and we want him out. Oh, we've got a new owner, Ingram, a black geezer from the Luton area. Thats all ok then. Can't anyone put 2 + 2 together in the Black Country? |

Having seen Farnborough's credit report, they seem to be heading the same way as before though
Whats going to be the next improvement? I reckon AFC AFC AFC AFC Farnborough AFC are going to have a superb stadium when they're reincarnated again (and again) |

I doubt that there are many clubs that do actually own their grounds, no doubt more and more of them have them in the wife's name.

They are the dodgiest of dodgy clubs. Are they still gonna buy Darlington's old stand before they go pop again?

Vinnie, as a Gloucester fan, would you want to move to the Conf South if given the option? Seems a possibility with the ups/downs this year

It's much of a muchness I think, but then there's the better the devil you know factor.
Most of the playing staff are based in Gloucester, Cheltenham and Bristol. Just Adie Harris is north of us in Hereford but that has never stopped him. If you don't go up I'd be happy for us to come down to Kingfield and give you another lesson

Your comments show that you're spiteful and don't really understand the situation Vinnie. It's not worth trying to explain it to you if you're going to be a child.

Anybody else off to the FA Trophy final this weekend ?
Mansfield so far have sold over 12000 tickets......... Pity Wembley feel the need to keep two thirds of the gate receipts for themselves

Are they? You have the BS Prem, BS North, Northern Prem then the Northern Prem North, which is where they are now. Its hardly the Sheffield and Hallamshire County Senior League.

Farnborough beat Woking 1-0 in the first leg of the Conf South playoff last night.
The second leg will be tough mind, I reckon they could've done with a second goal.........

I will say I want Darlo to win the Trophy this season, bearing in mind I'm a supporter of the club they knocked out in the semi's.
Would be great for the cup to come up to the NE though. |

I think it would be better if it was done in real time, the emotion really sounds false which is a shame. That would've been gold had it contained what he really thought at the time!

Im not sure whether i want Wrexham or Luton to win the playoff semis.
As much as I hate luton and want them to lose, it'd be nice to play them again and have a proper derby match. But I think AFC Wimbledon deserve to go up, |

Thanks for explaining the league structure. I am willing to bet that most supporters of football in this country have not heard of the league that Chester are in.
Two promotions to the Conference now, doesn't actually seem that far away and with the club in such a good state too. |

Just back from the FA Trophy final which Darlington won with a goal in the 121st minute and I have to say it was by far the worst game of football I have ever seen, both sides were absolutely awful, Darlington deserved the win in the end with the goal coming from their third effort to hit the woodwork (apart from that they hardly did anything al match), Mansfield never even drew a save from their keeper in 120 mins, atmosphere outside the ground was fantastic though with both sets of fans (25'000) mixing very well, congrats to any Darlo fans on here.
