Think I want Wrexham to go up, don't mind going to York, Mansfield is closer
We (Woking) will probably end up with Luton as our Boxing Day / New Years Day match! |

York beat Wrexham away and drew at home. York and Mansfield drew both home and away. York got the double over Luton. Quote:

Mansfield have won 13 of their last 15 games scoring 40 goals, the other 2 results were a draw and a loss to Fleetwood, they've won the last 6 in a row which included beating Wrexham easily, none of the other play off teams have beaten Mansfield this season, with Wrexham beaten home and away by the Stags.

Northern Premier League, Premier Division update.
Chester 'pi$$ed this tinpot league' as most sensible people presumed they would. Finished with 100 points and 100 goals from 42 matches so all in all not a bad effort at all. It would be interesting to see a league table based on points accrued per £1k spent on playing budget........not certain that Chester would still top that version but nevertheless their achievement should not be demeaned. Their sizeable crowds have generated the income and Neil Young appears to have spent it wisely. Northwich Vics - finished 2nd but in a shocking (NOT) development found their on-field efforts overshadowed by catastrophic financial issues off the pitch. The NPL management committee banned them from participating in the play-offs and expelled them from the league but this punishment was reduced by the Football Association on appeal. The play-off ban remains but the FA have ruled that the NPL was excessive in kicking them out and have allowed for them to simply to be relegated into NPL Div 1. So no Vics in the play-off. Chorley - another side with significant financial issues in the early part of the season but somehow Gary Flitcroft kept the squad together - even enhancing it significantly at the deadline - and with Vics disqualification the Magpies take the first seed position for the play-offs. Bradford Park Avenue - recent form has seen the Horsfall side stumble into the play-offs. Apparently been a bit decimated with injuries but early season form sees them finish 4th. Hednesford Town - the Pitmen qualify for post-season action again. Excellent early season home form saw them look like the early Chester challengers but they fell away post-Christmas. Held out for a nervy 0-0 on the final day to secure the 'final' play-off berth with 5th place. FC United of Manchester - indifferent early season form and a lack of consistency saw the Rebels looking like no more than an outside bet to edge into the play-offs. A great run in the new year took them above Hednesford and they looked certain qualifiers. Suspensions took their toll with 3 losses on the trot around Easter leaving them on the outside looking in. Even a final day trouncing of Vics was not enough as they ended in 6th place, one point worse off than Hednesford. With Vics demise the play-offs were delayed whilst the appeal was heard so rather than a final this weekend we'll see the semis on Saturday with the final being played the following weekend. Chorley vs FC United looks to be close to a 4,000 sellout with both clubs reporting brisk ticket sales. BPA vs Hednesford will be less well attended but no less hard fought. Which of these sides will join Chester in the Conference North next season? It's tough to look beyond the winners of the Chorley vs FC United semi-final but in sudden-death matches strange results can and do occur. Visitors FC United of Manchester overcame a solid Chorley outfit to book their visit to BPA's Horsfall Stadium next week. The Rebels were good value for their 2-0 win though the Magpies will rue a Ciaran Kilheeney shot that struck the bar at 0-0. |

Things look like they are getting worse at Darlington
Quote . THE community company bidding to buy the Quakers has confirmed the club will not be playing at the Darlington Arena next season if the sale is completed. Darlington FC 1883 (DFC 1883) has announced this afternoon that it is looking for clubs to share grounds with for 2012/13 outside of Darlington. However, DFC 1883 said it planned to bring the club back to the town as soon as possible. Craig McKenna, DFC 1883 board member and project manager, said: “We can confirm that Darlington wont be staying at the Arena. Full Story http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/new...ve_Darlington/ |

Jon Shaw has rejected Gateshead contract. Speculation arises on where he'll end up next.
Personally, I can see him in the league again. |

That's quite a front line we've got now...with Rendell, Gray, Fleetwood and Shaw.............just need the centre half and one central midfielder to sort and it's game on!!!
COYH! The club have said that a new centre half has already signed, will be announced next week. Just need a couple more bodies for midfield and it's good to go. |

With the new season fast approaching, the pre season friendlies have started in ernest, plus there's been singings galore.
How do you feel your team as done. I'm actually quite impressed with how Gateshead have signed after Bogie let most of the team go back in April and especially looking forward to our pre season derby again The Scum Blyth Spartans. |

Gateshead drew 2-2 with Luton away on Saturday and then hammered Mansfield 4-1 last night, I should be happy, but I'm not.
Sadly, our longest serving and oldest fan, Adam Robson, passed away suddenly today aged 100. He was at the match just hours earlier. http://www.itv.com/news/tyne-tees/up...dest-fan-dies/ |

A 1-1 draw yesterday, disappointing to throw away a last minute penalty, but 5 points from three not exactly easy games is something I can live with.
How did your team do? Come on fellow non leaguers, get out of the woodwork, let's be having yer! |

Worthing 3-4 Three Bridges
Back from watching an exciting game in the Ryman South. Bridges got their first win in step four football (narrowly lost at home to Sittingbourne on Saturday), but had to hold onto it with their fingertips. Went in at half-time 4-2 up, getting two goals in two minutes near the end of the first half. Worthing pulled a goal back in the first few minutes of the second half, but despite a siege now and then, Bridges held onto their first points and win in Ryman football. Ah well, maybe we can survive up here... maybe. |

I wish my non-league game was as exciting as that, instead Nantwich Town 1-1 Kendel Town.

Is there ever a chance of 3 up 3 down between league 2 and the Blue Square Premier?

15/16 games into the Conference season, how are your clubs doing.
Gateshead have not won a game since September 8th and currently lie 13th on 20 points. Not great. Got a 90th minute equaliser yesterday and nearly won it in stoppage time, but a lot more improvement is needed. This was supposed to be the season we were challenging for promotion. Doesn't look like it as I type. |
