You would think so. However whilst Mansfield have games in hand, they are not yet top of the league. My experience of watching football tells me that there will still be something unexpected to happen. Tuesday night is important.

If Mansfield lose they will still not be top of the league and with only 1 game in hand.

Don't get me wrong, I still expect Mansfield to win the league.

Listening to their manager on the radio, it seems they are going to stay part time due to financial restrictions . Think they may struggle against full timers

There's a pretty big gap between the regional Conference divisions and the Premier. Unless you have the sugardaddy Chairman bankrolling you like Fleetwood the sides that come up tend to see mid table safety as a good season and just hope to avoid relegation. You tend to get one part time side a year challenge at the top end for a while (like Southport last season) but they just can't stand the pace at the top with the fully pro sides.

Yes, they're staying part time next season, as the financial implications of going full time are too great at the moment. The manager is already full time (gave up a job at Merseyrail) and a couple of the players are too, and the intention is to gradually move to full time status over a few seasons, by which time the aim will be to get into League 2.

The club are under no illusions that the next couple of seasons will be about making sure they stay in the leage and establish themselves.

If they lose, they are more or less out of it. If they draw they will be level on points and goal difference with Kidderminster. If they win they are in the box seat but would still have to win at home against Wrexham who will be keen to avoid the 2nd place team in the play offs.

KIdderminster have an easy last game at home against Stockport.

Stockport need to win at Gateshead on Tuesday to have any chance of staying up, I'd like them to do it so there will be derby matches against my home town team Hyde again next season, but I don't fancy their chances.

I think clubs that go bust and reform should be penalised much more harshly than they are.

Isn't it a bit fishy that a club who went bust can then afford to field teams that piss their leagues to return to where they came from in successive seasons?

Looks like Stockport are going down, they need to win away at championship chasing Kidderminster to have any chance of surviving, local rivals Hyde could help them by beating Lincoln, but I can't see them surviving even if that happens.

To think thar only a few years ago they were playing Man City in what is now the Championship.

For obvious reasons I hope they do go down.

Unbelievable that they look set for Conference North football next season, they are probably the 2nd biggest club in the Premier this season. Such a poorly managed club.

There's still a chance that both you and Stockport could survive, but the way Kidderminster have played this season it's unlikely.

I don't know about the second biggest, Luton are obviously the biggest, but Wrexham and Grimsby are also quite big, it'll be something of a culture shock for some of their fans in Conference North.
