To me, with Wood's money Gateshead are fighting well above their weight. Only 600 odd on Saturday with Newcastle away and no cricket or rugby on, I don't know what they can do? I hate watching football at the Int Stadium but surely Gateshead have a market?
I find it depressing that Gateshead under Bogie were aiming for promotion and now are just happy to survive”
The Heed are inconsistent. They can put on a good display and this year we have amassed a good side, but unfortunately we can play poorly as well.
The resignation thing is a mess. I've read the articles in the local press and on the BBC site and it seems that Smith offered his resignation thinking no one would take it seriously. It does seem that the club I love have made a joke of themselves.
I would love us to get out of the Stadium. It's out of the way and the stand is miles away from the pitch. The new stadium I think has been moved until 2015 now.
We've always had problems getting the punters to come to the games. Advertising campaigns and back to back promotions has helped, but sadly in Gateshead everyone is nearly always a Newcastle or Sunderland fan and supporting their local club seems an alien concept.
Graeme Wood is still aiming for promotion to the league. We've taken another setback in that aim, but I firmly believe if we get out act together, we can achieve that.
