Just wondering, would anyone here be in favour of merging League 2 and the top division of the Conference to create League 2 north & south?

It would mean less travel costs for the clubs and fans going to away games.

How would that affect the divisions below though, who are already segregated into Northern and Southern leagues?

If you look at Conference North you will see that it covers not just the North, but also the whole of the Midlands and the Nothern part of the South, that's because there is an imbalance of Southern teams, if that was also the case after a merger of League Two and Conference National it would only really benefit teams in the South.

Nantwich Town won 6-1, so that helps in a very small way for my other team not doing so well!

I suggested League 2 North/South ages ago, I think it's the perfect solution for cash strapped lower league clubs and to solve the logjam at the top of the Conference Premier. I doubt it will ever happen because the League teams won't want to bring in another 24 teams to share tv revenue sponsorship cash etc.

How would that affect the divisions below though, who are already segregated into Northern and Southern leagues?
It wouldn't affect them, other than that the Conference North would promote directly into League 2 North and the Conference South into League 2 South. The basic structure of their leagues would be unaffected.

That's not true. There's lots of Southern teams in the North/South level because there's lots of Northern teams at the Conference Premier level. If anything at the moment there would be more travel for Southern teams as the Midlands clubs would end up in 'League 2 South'. It's something that will fluctuate, there is no inherent 'Southern bias' in going regional.

Halesowen Town 5 Tipton Town 0 FA Cup.

It seemed to me that Tipton have several very skillful footballers in their team but they lacked cutting edge.

Halesowen on the other hand relied mainly on hoofing it up the channels for Haseley to comfortably out pace everyone on the pitch and score. He bagged a hat-trick.

A cracking 2-0 win against Dartford yesterday moves us up to 16th.

Not the most consistent of form at the moment, but it will be interesting to see what Mills does come January.

Apologies. Big error on my part.

North Ferriby are playing Alfreton not Atherstone who, of course, lost on Saturday

I blame the small screen on my phone and the incessant chatter from my workmates..)

Crazy game on Saturday. Dartford beat Hyde 4-3. Not sure how really as Hyde were the better team and had a lot of goal chances. Grateful for the points though.
