I genuinely feel for Hereford, we've been there ourselves. Hopefully they can bounce back, much like we have, under the fans ownership.

Happy for ourselves to be reprieved though, we need to get it right next season, I'm pretty hopeful under Burr's lead.

From the Salisbury local paper :

SALISBURY City owner Mark Winter says he feels “embarrassed” and “ashamed” after buying the financially stricken club with Moroccan businessmen Otail Touzar, who is yet to invest a single penny.

The 47-year-old told supporters last night £29,000 needs to be raised to cover the players' wage bills by 5pm today or they will be axed from the Football Conference.

Two per cent shareholder Mr Winter has already plunged about £75,000 into the club while his business partner Mr Touzar, 31, is yet to invest.

But Mr Winter, who has supported the Whites for the past six years, doesn't want anyone to help save the club until Mr Touzar, who is chairman, signs over his shares.

The crisis follows an incorrect announcement by Mr Touzar earlier this week that he'd signed a Saudi Arabian prince Khalid Bin Bader Alsaud to play for the Whites.

A club insider told the Journal this wasn't true and no contract had been signed.
“I've taken money from my mortgage to help save the club.

“I feel embarrassed and ashamed about how this has panned out. Never in a million years did I expect this outcome. I don't know what the next seven hours will bring. If Otail leaves, I know people who want to come in and help.”

Mr Winter, who is responsible for running the club on a day-to-day basis with the help of fellow supporter and fiancée Michaela Menzel, took over the club last month from William Harrison-Allan when it was on the verge of folding.

Along with Mr Touzar he took on about £160,000 of debts after purchasing the club for a pound.

About £41,000 of that was owed to the players, some of which the Journal understands has been paid.

“The club was going to fold anyway so I had 48 hours to do a deal and save the club,” Mr Winter added.

“I had lots of talks with potential investors but when it came to it, people, understandably, said I'm out.

“I needed somebody to be the financial backer and was recommended someone by a well-respected man from Capita.

It's now gone 5.00 pm

Reading the above, it doesn't seem there will be a positive outcome

Salisbury have been given an extention by the league

Club Statement :

A 5 PM deadline set by the Conference tonight to address some financial issues relating to Salisbury City FC has passed without any action being taken against the club for the time being. Salisbury City FC have asked for an extension from the league and presented them with evidence to support their claim.

Furthermore the club today have, upon legal advice, taken steps to remove the current owner, Mr Otail A.S. Touzar after information surfaced questioning the legitimacy of his takeover of the club. Following consultation with legal experts, Mr Touzar has been banned from the club and will be served with legal papers in the forthcoming days to overturn his ownership.

At this point in time no further statement will be made.

Salisbury FC statement :

Salisbury City FC are facing expulsion from the Conference on Tuesday after the leagues board decided to relegate them today, despite meeting certain financial demands placed on them.

On Friday £75,000 was transferred into the club solicitors client account to meet unpaid debts. The Conference board have also been given assurances that in the next seven days, the funds to meet all outstanding club debts will be paid. However, because of a legal issue in relationship to ownership of the club, the Conference board have decided to throw Salisbury City FC out of the league on Tuesday. It staggers belief that this is a Conference board who were quite happy, along with the FA, to endorse the appointment of Otail Touzar but following forensic investigation by the club to expose him as a fraudster, are now using him as an excuse to throw Salisbury City FC out of the league.

Following legal advice, Salisbury City FC will now consider taking an injunction out on the Conference or taking the case to an FA independent appeal board. It is disappointing that the Conference have failed to give the club a 7 day extension to clear up their financial irregularities and as a result of their imminent action it leaves Salisbury City FC with no choice but to take legal steps to safeguard their future.

This looks like it will run and run...

The officials at the Southern League must be banging their head on the wall by this point. They've apparently accepted Hereford provisionally into next season's competition, and now they're going to have to go through it all over again. Unless they manage to palm Salisbury onto the Isthmian League instead...

Macclesfield at least seem to be out of the woods now, although the statement on their website where the owner said he'd fund them for another season (or until they get taken over) seems to have vanished for some reason.

Are Salisbury definitely relegated to the South or not? All very confusing.

Officially they're at least relegated to the Conference South, and unless they clear all their football-related debts within the next three weeks, they'll be relegated a step further to the Southern or Isthmian League.

However, Salisbury are saying they intend to appeal to the FA and, if necessary, sue the Conference to get the decision overturned. Definitely a gigantic mess, this situation.

It's all very strange. What exactly did this Touzar guy get from it?

He claimed to have been trying to invest in Palace last season too.

Well my team Dartford have another chance at the premier. What a great fortune. Hopefully they can do better than last season. Much better seeing Wrexham and Bristol Rovers than Tonbridge and Staines.

The latest statement from Salisbury doesn't make good reading.

http://salisburycity-fc.co.uk/

On Friday if we fail to lodge a £50,000 bond and pay football creditors around £27,000 the Conference will throw Salisbury City out of the League. That will inevitably be followed by a winding up order from the HMRC if we fail to pay an outstanding tax bill for £29,000.
And there's been negotiations with the owner...

Touzar wanted £100,000 for 60 percent of the club, to remain as chairman for at least 6 months and 35 percent of any commercial deals he bought into the club. He also wanted 35 percent of any deal that would see the club relocate from their current ground, and wanted Mark Winter, Michaela Menzel and Rae Hughes banned from any involvement in the club.

Salisbury City have been expelled from the Conference South after the Conference board performed a massive u-turn after earlier giving us assurances that if our football debts were paid we would be able to continue in the league.

Naturally emotions will be running very high and there will be a great deal of anger being directed at the Conference and the absent owner Touzar who showed his true colours in the 11th hour. He did nothing!

But rest assured Salisbury City will not go down without a monumental fight.

Same first game as last year but at home this time, Barnet.

Meh at those fixtures, given us some local derbies and long trips in midweek, neither convenient as usual.

Should make the Trophy midweek, easier for everyone.
