I don't think Gateshead will win the conference.
Missing our main keeper and star striker.

I'd still prefer to forget about yesterday though

Fair play, you quite obviously wanted it more. Any idea who those knackers were who came over to the home end before kick off and started (well tried) to cause trouble?

People like that just ruin it for those who genuinely want to support their team.

Barnet 4 Dartford 0. Bottom 4 already. Looks like a repeat of last season and a relegation struggle.

Went to Torquay v Aldershot on Monday with a friend.

Weather didn't make for the prettiest of games anyway but both did try to pass the ball and the wingers were pretty dangerous.

Any new signings for your teams yet?

Quiet our end, but Gary Mills has stated he's looking at a few players.

Cheshire League Premier Division (Step 7) 4/9/2014

Garswood United 1 - 2 Pilkingtons

Garswood took the lead through Mike Winer following an excellent move

Pilks equalised through Garswood old boy Lloyd Dean though it was intended as a cross.

Then another ex-Garswood player, Scott Baker, hit the winner with a terrific strike. It was in the top corner before the 'keeper even saw it!

Had Garswood won this match it would have put them 1 point behind current leaders Eagle Sports but it wasn't to be.

Does anyone think Bristol Rovers will get out of the Conference? It's a pretty weird and difficult league to get out of and they look to be struggling even against part time teams like Braintree Town.

Yeah I'm from Bristol, not really sure what us going on there.

Maybe they need a more experienced Manager, I know they haven't a right to go straight back up, but with a new stadium being built, this new stadium could become like the Darlington Arena.

Dulwich Hamlet nearly doubled their record attendance yesterday with around 2,800 for the Ryman League game
Even though they had a special pay what you want entrance fee, that is outstanding
A lot of hard work must have gone into this

Anyone's team through to the next round of the Vase?

Unfortunately mine isn't eligible.

Although another local team made it through when their opponents took a 2-1 lead in the 90th minute only for them to equalise on 90+5!! They then went on to win 4-2 AET!!

Won 1-0 today against a very tough Dartford side who were out to stop us playing and did a very good job of it.

On that display, I don't think the Darts will be relegated.

STAFFORD Rangers' F.A. Cup match against Tividale was delayed by 30 minutes today after an alleged theft at the club.

Staffordshire Police were unable to confirm reports personal items were stolen from the Tividale dressing room, a discovery made at half-time, but the second half of the FA Cup clash at Marston Road kicked off half-an-hour late as the situation was investigated.

A Rangers official said the police had been called, but had not arrived by the end of the match at 5.15pm. There were also reports that a similar incident had occurred at Stafford Cricket Club.

Earlier tonight, a Tweet sent from the Rangers official Twitter account said that the phones had been found in the team's kitbag, but the Tividale account maintained that there had been a theft.

@tividale_fc Tweeted: "Telephones were taken from the dressing room and stashed in a bag of balls when it was obviously realised that they could be tracked. All of the money from wallets etc is still missing.

"Phones from another robbery at a nearby cricket club had been stashed in the bag too."

The match ended 0-0, with a replay to be played at Tividale on Tuesday evening.

The standard of officiating in the Cheshire League is, on the whole, rather poor. What's it like in your league?

There are some good ones, of course, but I wonder if there isn't some sort of vicious circle going on.

The 'Respect Campaign' aims to tackle the mass dropout of referees due to abuse according to the F.A. so, does this mean that 'good' referees are dropping out to be replaced by inexperienced 'fast tracked' refs?

Or is it because the good refs get promoted and Step 7 is used as a training ground for inexperienced refs?

Last Saturday we had three officials, none of whom were the original appointees, but replacements due to cry-offs. Only one, a liner, was experienced, as far as I could tell.

It makes me wonder.

Everyone has their part to play, admittedly, but what are your thoughts.

This seems a little odd

Peter Lim, who tried to buy Liverpool and is set to take over Valencia, has acquired a 50% stake in Evo-Stik Division One North club Salford City.
Ex-Manchester United quintet Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt, who agreed to take over the club in March, will have 50% ownership.
In a statement, they said businessman Lim's experience would be "invaluable".
The takeover is subject to Football Association approval.Singapore-based self-made billionaire Lim, 61, is estimated by Forbes to be worth £1.5bn, but withdrew a £320m bid to buy Liverpool in 2010.
The Neville brothers, Giggs, Scholes and Butt say they have known Lim for more than 10 years, and expect "exciting times" for Salford City, who are top of their league in the eighth tier of English football.

More than a little odd I'd say

from the Salford Star:

Lim's investment in his beloved `grass roots' doesn't appear to have extended to his own country. Today on the website of Singapore paper, Straits Times, one person wrote "Charity begins at home. Why not support and nurture our own Singapore's football clubs?" – to which another replied "I believe he has already attained fortune and the next best thing is...fame".

`Fame' at being associated with Salford City FC?
Or is this about being associated with the Class of '92?

If Gary Neville et al are trying to build a club through the `grass roots', why sell half of it to a Singaporean billionaire from the other side of the world after only six months? They can't need the investment, they are all millionaires already – David Beckham, for instance, is worth an estimated £200million. Surely a club four tiers below the Football League, run by volunteers, doesn't need a billionaire's `investment'?

So what is in it for the Class of '92?

And can Salford City FC retain its newly found motto of `Integrity' during the process?
