I know. We were only going to see Fabs who ended up not playing anyway.
Fabian Speiss? He was 2nd choice at Notts County. Decent keeper, never got a chance as there was always a better first choice

Some good results for the underdogs in the FA Cup yesterday

Terrific injury time equaliser for the Holbeach United's keeper against Worcester

Love the FA Cup for introducing me to teams I've never heard of

Merthyr Town 0-1 Hartley Wintney

Not even sure what part of the country they're from

Over the moon with our result yesterday. 2nd in the table.

Could this be our last year as a non league side? Certainly hope so

My local team Alfreton Town had a good win in the FA Cup yesterday. 2-0 down away at Tamworth with about 20 mins left and won 3-2! scored the equalizer near the end of normal time before scoring the winner in injury time!

If they get a home tie in the next round I might go and watch it.

Good stuff, but it's a shame Parkway didn't beat them in the previous round as HW are only a tier up.

Merthyr did have Guillem Bauzą up front though, which suprised me at such a low level, considering he used to play for Mallorca, Espanyol and Swansea as well as a few other league sides and looked a different class.

I forgot to mention something that amused me at that game as well. Parkway started the game without Levi Landricombe (who had scored something like 13 goals in the previous 5 games) but named him on the bench, because he had been on holiday and his flight had been delayed, and he was only at Exeter airport at kickoff.

He must have put his foot down, because he arrived at the ground just at the end of half-time and came on a minute or two into the second half

Not something you would be likely to see in league football

And talking of Airports, Ramsgate had a three hour delay at Gatwick on Sunday before their annual away-day to Guernsey

At home to Dover tomorrow. If results go our way, we could go top.

Either way, three points at this stage is the important thing.

Is they Halifax fan on here as just wondering what your thought of Darren Kelly become Halifax new manager

I'm surprise how quick he got job after been sack from Oldham three weeks ago but good luck to him and at this level I feel he should do good job there.

I'm not a fan as such but Matt Glennon their goalkeeper and captain (I think) this season is my barber and my hair needs cutting this week so will be having a natter with him about it. I do note the score and read the match report. Things (IMHO) went downhill after Lee Gregory (top goalscorer in the 2013-2014 conference league) was sold to Millwall before the start of last season. Halifax had an average season and towards the end became a draw specialist. This season has been dire after numerous player changes in the close season (including all of the midfield) and performances have usually been poor. I think something needed doing and it is usually the manager that takes it although Neil Aspin did a good job getting them to the playoffs.

Think he may have a big job on his hands if yesterday's result is anything to go by(they lost 1-7 at home)

Always going to be a struggle for Halifax tho' up against full-time professional sides

(I think they are the only team that aren't full-time pro in the National League ?)

We lost 0-2 at home to Worcester on Friday night with Lee Hughes scoring an excellent goal and then getting a red card for trying to throttle one of our players

We also have to play our FA Cup match on Sunday due to there being 2 big rugby games close by on Saturday this week

We're at home to Buxton who are going well in the league below us

Double sadness today, us getting walloped, and Gateshead losing 3-2 home to Dover. Still have faith in us and the Heed though.

Hoping for better things next week.

It would be great to see a Hartlepool v Gateshead Northeast derby in the league one day.
