That's a fab bargain Iggy.

My day's been nice in some places and not nice in others. I met up with a friend and we had a lovely time and then lunch. As we were sitting there (outside the restaurant) my mum walked by. She didn't recognise us. She wasn't making a point of not stopping to chat - she really didn't know I was her daughter and she didn't recognise my friend (who she does know well enough to say hello to at least). It's heartbreaking.

Oh BG I know how that hurts - and only those who have been there know just how much.

Stay strong.

Thanks Iggy.

I wish I could fix this thing but I can't. It's hard coming to terms with it all.

Love it. Pixie King has a nice SoH

I have reading glasses and driving glasses, but can get by without them due to having one reading eye and one driving eye.

That was until me retinas had to be glued back on, but hey-ho, can't get by without a grump.

((BG & Iggy))

Crikey BG, if she can't recognize you, surely that's grounds for saying she could end up in distress, and hence you could get the proper people involved.

I'm hungry but have to wait til the cleaning lady finishes in the kitchen before I can make my lunch.

Petsmart ran out of my dog's favorite flavor of toothpaste, now he's sulking around the house.

The rain detector on my Lexus is a little too sensitive, so my wind shield wipers auto-activate a little more than I would like.

No one seems very interested in her distress or anything else like that. They'll only get involved against her wishes if she's in immediate danger to herself, or becomes dangerous to others.

I completely understand that society needs to respect people's wishes etc., but I always kind of assumed that the rules change a little when it comes to what is essentially a mental illness. It seems not. I spoke to the community psychiatric nurse last week and it's the same old story...

It feels that I made a mistake bringing her back here, as crazy as that sounds. I've talked to a couple of people in Warsaw about all this and if I'd tackled it all over there I'd have power of attorney now and I'd be making decisions for her, regardless of her delusions, and she'd be getting treatment.

There might even be an argument for having Batman help her back to Poland. I'm trying to get my head around that but it's not working at the moment.

I think I'd be very tempted to go with that, Bats. Tough call though ((((((((((((BG)))))))))))))

Here, well, did I mention exam stress? We now need a new back door. Young Sad "fell" into it last night... poor dog was showered with glass shards and had to be hoovered up before I could move him. Bed at 2am ... I'm surviving on Pro Plus today. Kids

It wasn't the most amusing time of my life, it has to be said. But the consequences could have been much, much worse - no injuries, amazingly, just a shaken son and a terrified pooch. And I think I cleared it all up. The moral of this story of course is not to position a breakfast bar too near the back door. Even if you think it can't possibly reach it... when a teenager goes crashing into it trying to break his fall, having tripped over his own feet ... anything can happen.

I'd post a picture of our new improved gaffa taped glass but you get the idea

KJ you're incorrigible - or maybe I am. Whatever I've been in stitches for the last 10 minutes and my sides ache.

Anyway electrician has been and even before the investigation he forecast that the culprit would be a slug lodged in the circuit board, coming in from the cold.

Apparently all I need to do is scatter slug pellets to deter the little buggers and all will be well.

Now which car should I drive?

Flipping heck, (((((((((((Sad)))))))))))!

batty, I'm so sorry (((((((((((((((((((huggle)))))))))))))))))))))))

Iggy - clearly your own fault for having such cosy circuit boards!
Make sure there's no wandering pooches or pussies around if you're chucking slug-pellets about, though, won't you? They don't just poison slugs...

KJ - that's the best link EVER!

Does this one come close to mine.

My battery was dead on my car this morning, I had to take my other car.

Don't you just love this one - I just got my car washed and now it's raining.

Thanks for the advice handy - that's something I didn't know.

Imagine if that was my latest problem.

Hello Girls.

Just thought I would pop in, if you remember me () and say our beautiful baby Samuel arrived on Friday 13th May at 0433 weighing 7lbs8oz. It was a long 22 hours of labour, with 2 1/2 hours of pushing with just G&A for the first part and nothing for the second, but it was the most pleasurable experiences of my life, and an absolute dream birth.

Samuel has been an absolute star, and is eating and sleeping brilliantly - I couldn't possibly be any happier.

Hope all is well with everyone. xx

Summer evening: birdsong and piggies wheeking.

Our randy boy pig is seemingly 'congested' (as in what happens with dogs' glands)

Congratulations 24/7.

Himself is making a mess.. sorry I should have typed cooking and is cursing and swearing as he can't get the food processor to "lock". Any moment now he'll be announcing it's past it and we need a new one first thing.
