Biking uphill is very good for you, batty - or so I'm told!

Good day today but a busy one,and it ain't over yet by a long shot, so I may not make it back in here tonight.

Evening all

Busy day at work, hurt my back too.

Given myself a day off tomorrow, to spend some more time with Mrs Porridge. Promised to help the Father in law with disconnecting his sky box, I fear it may turn into running cables around the house from the aerial. Also, must finish that quote for Sad that I promised her!

It is. I'm back in my skinny jeans.

Socha - indeed. One of the reasons we chose the house we did was De Heuvel - gotta have somewhere to go sledging!

Porridge - you're a lovely fella.

Me, I'm knackered. I'm going to drag myself off to bed, to read for a while. I'm about to finish a really good book... I hate finishing good books.

[...]

I'm about to finish a really good book[/b]... I hate finishing good books.
Which one is it?

I just received "Let The Great World Spin" as it centers round the event of Philippe Petit walking a tightrope between the Twin Towers. I had watched Man on Wire and loved it so much that I thought I'd give this novel a try.

I've just finished the second one of the Millennium Trilogy. I bought the first two when I thought I was about to fly to Warsaw, thinking they'd be a light *holiday* read, and I've read them both now and really enjoyed them. I'm just shooting off to get the third one in a minute. After that, I'm up for suggestions. I hate not having a book on the go.

Sounds interesting.... will have to look into that...

Et tu Batsy?

I bought vol. 1 and 2, thinking I'd be in for a treat and couldn't believe my eyes! Cardboard characters as flat as Holland! Struggled my way to the end of vol 1 and - thinking I must have missed something - read the first 15 pages of vol. 2 and then gave up completely.

Besides flat characters, I feel there is something a bit cheap and 'voyeuristic' about them, like an out of control fantasy of someone with an unhealthy interest in sadism.

Hope I didn't spoil it for you....

No, no, not at all - I've started the third one and I'm enjoying it already.

It's not my usual cup of tea but I do want to know what happens next so I'm obviously gripped.

Came in late, no dinner as Mr Sad decided not to bother So, cooking pasta bake, then discovered he'd used up the last of the milk in his milky coffee today and not bothered to get one out of the freezer... so had to drive to the bloody co-op for milk (7 mile round trip)
I am not impressed...

and it's been a pants day at work, we're probably all going to be looking for new jobs at this rate

and my sister's still being an arse.

Oh, poor Sad!

Exciting news in the Porridge household, Mrs. P bought another stool!!!

Apparently it's a "Gout stool". I can't tell you how excited and pleased I am

Erm, ok, I may not be so excited lol.

She's planning to re-upholster it!

With Mrs P's feet on it!

It's adjustable as well!

Can you tell I'm excited?
