Goodness there must be something strange going on with all the Grumpies working or have worked with children and young adults now or in the past. Maybe it's 'cos we are good at what we do and need an outlet like here to have a really good moan and let it all hang out. !

It's not fair, cos they're necessities, aren't they - they should at least be subsidised. Or basic ranges should be.
I'm overdue a new pair by knocking on 12 months; will have to bite on the bullet in the summer hols and just buy the darned things. I like rimless ones best, but of course they're even more... not sure how that works. Less rim for more money.

Here... it's hard to believe the chaos a little old demented woman can create. Bills aren't getting paid either here or in Warsaw, it looks like she might've provoked a couple of people into taking legal action against her (which will be interesting), and I'm still getting calls from her neighbours. And, to top it all, she's rediscovered my phone number so we're getting regular abuse ourselves too. It's all exhausting and seems... endless.

#1 Slavette has came out of hiding as Himself is nightshift. She's got an appointment at the Job Centre on Monday morning. Thank goodness she's came home at last. Fingers crossed she figures out what she wants to do and we can help her get headed in the right direction.

My grump for the wee early hours is the fly that has been following me about all day! The beastie is still lurking near me. I am almost tempted to break out the only aerosol in the house - THE WASP KILLER. All it's mates have got stuck on the flypaper near the back door but this one fly seems to have appointed itself my personal fly.

I keep sniffing myself to establish if I smell.

PQ - glad #1 Slavette has reappeared! Uni's not for everyone; my cousin did two years in London then jacked it in, came back home, got a job in Morrison's. When she'd got her nerve back up she completed her degree whilst living at her Mum's, then at last decided she'd like to be a teacher. Trained for that and is now deputy head of a primary school. Everyone finds their way eventually.

As regards the flies - Mr M gets pestered to death by them and they totally leave me alone. He's convinced he smells like a turd!

We've been over to put the payment down on our replacement car today; stopped for a picnic and a walk on the way home. Mr M's first day out of the house since last Tuesday!

Too hot for me today - and supposed to be just as bad tomorrow. Yuk!

PQ - a wise move if you ask me, the way things are with fees and suchlike I think there's only any point going to Uni if you passionately want to do something for which a degree is imperative, or are wealthy enough to spend 3-4 years doing something you love before finding a job. Still not sure which way my daughter will jump; Young Sad is set on computer games programming though so really needs that degree. He's off in September if his exams are as they should be. Scary time.


Here, I've spent the day mowing, sweeping, hoovering and cleaning windows. I think I'm coming down with something.
