The Prom pix of kids I taught are wonderful. It's amazing how some change so much and some still look the same. Jean at 5 is NOT Jean at 16 or 18 but James at 4 is STILL James at 18.”

PQ are you still watching Popstar to Operastar? I got myself into a little trouble on the PtO thread by implying that some posters are a little precious, even condescending, when it comes to the 'them and us' mentality of some self appointed opera experts. I can still feel the heat of the coals heaped upon my head when trying to insist that appreciation of good music (classical, opera and ballet etc) is bound more by opportunity than class. Sadly my posts to this effect were culled.
