The headache hasn't gone, it's just moved Ooop North.

Good luck with the teenagers. I find asking them all to tidy up after themselves works a treat...

It's getting ready to pee down here too (if that's what your post is about Socha).

I'm off out to lunch.

I've had a ghastly Monday, with one small light at the end of the tunnel keeping me sane.

Some people can be real >word too rude even for KJ potty mouth<.

Arsebiscuits.

My friend and I went bowling today, on the spur of the moment. We both did really badly but had a laugh. A pretty good way to spend a pissy Monday.

Tried to read and remember everything to comment on but I think I've failed... bits I wanted to say were - last time my other half was in hospital he was wearing odd socks (not an unusual occurrence in our house but something he does protest against as much as he can be bothered!)... I'm struggling through Sophie's World at the mo but I'm also trying to read other more academic things so am using it as my light relief which I think is where I'm going wrong... I think I'm trying to remember too much of the philosophy and forgetting too much of the actual story if that makes sense - I now look like a loon but I'm sure someone from here recommended it to me in the first place

Football is not a favoured subject in our house either at the mo KJ - especially with the kids both losing at the weekend and my son performing a slow hand clap to the ref on his game when he finally gave a decision their way. Thankfully the ref was a trifle slow and thought he was praising him rather than appreciating the irony of the situation

Eek! That's a hard book to digest, it gets whackier as it goes on too.

That was a bit early Socha!

I was up reading until about 3am and finished the last of those three books. Talk about running out of steam! If all the references to offering coffee, making coffee, pouring coffee, drinking coffee, going to get coffee, meeting for coffee, choosing coffee etc were taken out, the book would be about 100 pages long, instead of the 700+ he managed to pad it out to.

Hehe... very subtle....

But yeah... I guess there's only so much you can say about sadistic sex and capitalist conspiracies.... he surely didn't waste the other 600 pages on character development....

No, no, he kept that to the bare minimum , although he did introduce a vast number of peripheral characters for reasons that escaped me at first, until it dawned on me that as each new character was brought up to speed with the developments of the story (well known to the reader by then), the page count was also increasing nicely. The cherry on the cake was the deus ex machina-ish ending. It's like he forgot there was one more character that had to be killed off and wrote the final chapter on the bus, on the way to the publishers. Probably on the back of an envelope.

But I did finish reading it!
