There's about a foot of snow on the roof of my car. I doubt I'll get to our little road, much less the main-ish road. But I'll have a go... then we can go back to bed.

Yup, had a go and got stuck. I've left the car and I'm rather hoping one of the local farm chaps will take pity and dig it out for me. If that fails, the mechanic's supposed to be picking it up tonight, to take it off for its MOT. I don't have a plan C.

So, the boy and I are going to The Big Hill in a bit for an afternoon of sledging.

I swiped about three inches off the roof of mine this morning and got up to the main road successfully . Bum!

What a pity handy.

The car got liberated (plan A) and I'm waiting to see if the mechanic's up for picking it up tonight. Makes no difference to me - I'm not going anywhere.

I made a huge snowman. It took me ages, and when I dragged the boy out to admire it all he had to say was that it was nice. Nice!!! It's a bloody work of art!

I've got everything crossed for this evening. Don't fancy going out in it tomorrow anyway

You know me so well handy!

As it happens, I was so disappointed with the boy's lack of enthusiasm for it that I went and got a neighbour to have a look. He was so impressed he went back for his camera, then borrowed a bottle of wine and disappeared, promising to email me the picture. Nothing so far...

Still nothing. I have a hospital check-up appointment tomorrow so I'd rather the snow held off. Darn sarf, innit?

We have more snow forecast overnight, but the city council have apparently asured everyone that the schools will all be open... pooh to them!

It doesn't seem too bad up our end. Loads of snow still on the ground but we didn't get all that much last night after all. I still won't be able to make it out, though, because of the ice on the roads, so it's back to frolicking in the snow for us bats...

Not too bad here - we have some, and there looks as though more may be on the way - but the car wouldn't start so I was lumbered with a day at home writing up reports anyway. Apparently breakdown folk don't consider you a priority if you're at home so won't be out any time soon...

Make the most of it Sad.

We had a fab time sledging. We found a fresh hill and made our own run - a really fast one. And the sun was out and the sky was blue and the snow was sparkling... It was like being on holiday. Back in now and it looks like a blizzard's getting started. Eeek.

Five inches of slush all day. Ice-balls at school Yuk!

And when it freezes and then snows again on top the fun will *really* start!

YUP dreading a drive out to Clacton to morrow ........but have got on my course!!

Yup, the snow is lovely when it comes to sledging but driving in these conditions is a nightmare. I'm full of good intentions for tomorrow morning but it all depends on how cold it gets through the night. If the roads ice over, we'll have to stay put again.

Still, we've plenty of everything in so I'm not too grumpy.

I'm not much looking forward to it either but needs must and all that

After the day I've had working from home I think I'd have been better off out on the road

I hate the politics of this job sometimes. Gaaah.

No traffic here as the road is buried . Think we might be getting a snow day tomorrow - but we'll have to walk for supplies. My wellies are at work.

My guess is that even walking for supplies will be a bit of a struggle for you today.

We're still stuck at home. Not sure about sledging - it's been snowing really heavily for the last hour and it just looks... cold out there. Much nicer indoors, by the fire, with a cup of tea in hand.

It's mental here - never seen anything like it - have seen a couple of 4x4 cars this am but that is all - and it's the main road for a huge housing estate - there's a car abandoned on our street at the end of our drive. We took the dog out without a lead and he loved it - he looked like he was swimming! Local radio says worst snow for more than a century! Shops rationing lol. Police trying to borrow 4x4s from dealerships!
