Ooo, busy grumpy old thread.

Afternoon. All this Bank Holiday business is confusing me (easily confused, right?). It feels like a Sunday.

I had swine flu last winter ( feel better soon Amica) and it set me into a relapse of my illness. On top of that I had to go through the arduous task of arranging for and moving all my possessions from Ireland to Holland and all the offficial paperwork involved in moving country. That really stressed me out big time as well so I was left with limited use of my hands and some visual problems. That forced me to severely cut off my internet use and "save" my hands for things like playing the piano, cooking and handicrafts on top of the day to day things requiring hands and eyes. Unfortunately, even those things have had to be curtailed as well. (apologies for not sending cards, answering e-mails, messages, etc. throughout the year but thanks for them all)

Been going through medical tests here and learning how the Dutch medical system works. ( Not quite sure what to make of it but very different from both the UK and the US and quite confusing.)

Otherwise, me and Mr. Home are still having a laugh more or less every day and adjusting to married life with me here full-time, so enough of me.

I'm glad that you're still here and there to support each other through life's sometimes unkind circumstances. Been reading the thread from time to time but probably have a lot of catching up to do.

Don't know when I'll be back again but am trying to get back to being online more and keeping up with friends.

Bye for now!

xx”

lovely to see you

I'm pretending that it IS Sunday, that way I'll appreciate the 4 day week more *sigh*

It's lovely to have some old grumpers back at last

So, the water's off again. I'm not going to grump too much as it could be worse, we could be in Northern Ireland. But even so - it was off for 12 hours last time and they reckon 6 hours this time. Luckily I'd already showered and done most of the washing. Still, there's always the ironing

Morning all

Yayy Me@home has surfaced - glad to read that things are going well but not so great about the health issues. Hopefully all that will settle and resolve itself.

snowy - we're north of where the floods are happening, but they are awful. Things might start getting a bit awkward at the supermarkets if the road south is completely cut off, but truth be told that seems to happen most years for a while so you get used to it. I'm just thankful that we're ok, because some of those poor people have lost everything, some of whom had only just got their homes back after floods a couple of years ago!

It looks like we're going to have a stinking hot humid day after all the rain overnight and I have lots to do, including ironing! Oh joy - oh bliss! I could just play ping pong instead! ...... and I've got to re-write my resume - did I mention that LittlePlum and I have Permanent Residence now? that should make things easier on the job front - I'm hoping anyway!

Anyway, I'd better get going. Hope everyone is well, happy and going to sleep well when you go

I must go too - we got our water back so I'm frantically trying to finish the washing, though Lord knows why as Mr Sad's off tomorrow so surely he should do it....

That's the trouble with the time difference. Here is me trying to skive off doing what I should be doing and you lot all bog off to bed which leaves me little alternative other than to do what I should be doing..... hmmmm I have a cunning plan. I'll start doing what I should be doing noisily "accidentally" wake up LittlePlum and then we can play pingpong! Trouble is that starts the "Muuuuuuuuuuuuuum, can I.... " or "Muuuuuuuuuum, can we...." or "muuuuuuuuuuum, why......." I'm in a bit of a dilemma! Cup of tea and procrastinate is what is required!

Mr M passed a car in the ten-foot deep ditch by the road out of the village as he was going out to work - ambulance, police, fire-engines

Hoping no-one too bady hurt. Let's be careful out there, people!

It's been very odd. We went out to lunch with some friends and did a bit of shopping too (Lush are being very low key with their *sale* this year - where is it???) and when we got back about an hour ago all the snow was gone.

The Palace result helped de-grump me for my last day off today. As usual, Mr M and I are twins separated at birth.

It was 50% off Crimble stuff but it's mostly if not all gone now - my little Lush puppy tells me. She gets broken stuff so my house smells gorgeous as she is always in the bath.

Snow gone here too but still no heating - now 10 days- and all in bed with flu --

Happy New Year

Still , not complaining as I am actually feeling a tad better - the elephant on my chest has flitted - let's hope permanently.

Definitely need to see hair photos.

Hope water back soon Sad.

All you need is love..........................so they say.................

Morning all

I need some good old fashioned GOW vibes being sent to the southern hemisphere. Off up to the hospital shortly with my m-i-l for scans following chemo she's been having for last 3 months. I spend my life at the hospital since I've been here one way or another - but more of that later.

Fingers crossed please!

Sorry, its a "write and run" situation - but I better go!

PS No Lush up here in the wilds!
