Does Carmen travel?

I would like to be cleaning but I am working (well, having lunch atm but then working). It's greay and miserable out there. Got a meeting at school for the daughter later. They're predicting she's going to fail all her AS's and she's turning a deaf ear. So she may be looking for a job by 4pm tonight.

She may also be looking for somewhere to live, although her current plans involve relocating to where the new BF lives. Oooh, it's like watching my life flash before me, only with more attitude and less parental pressure... not sure how that works...

And you thought the labour was the hard part.
Sounds like madam is giving you a real time of it these days. I hope for you that she turns that corner (that corner that most teenagers turn when they mature and calm down a bit) real, real soon. There's always one in every bunch that you can blame your grey hairs on. (((((SP)))))

Bloomin' 'eck Sad - can't she be given a talking to and made to re-sit if she does fail? And is repeating the year an option? One chap we know is having to do that and I think it's shocked him into doing some work.

But I do feel for you. If only we could make their mistakes for them...

Here, I feel like a baby elephant due to piggery at a Pizza Hut. We went with a group of friends and we were all starving and cleaned out their all you can eat buffet thingy. *deep blush*

Oh Batty I have such a vision in my head now

Yep, I'd rather go the talking to/re-do the year route, but I doubt if she would. She's just At That Age. I love her dearly, but I know my limits... I'm not entirely sure that she knows my limits yet, though.

I really, really want to clean my house. You'd think with half term coming up I could look forward to that - but some bright spark decided it would be a good plan to go away for a few days instead

Crikey. That makes "I could eat a horse" look amateur.

Poor Sad! (((((((hug))))))))
Girls is worse than lads any day... hopefully something will happen soon to shock her into reality! All you can do is keep lines of communication open, make sure she knows you love her dearly, grit your teeth, take no poop, and wait...

Batty - go you with your buffet clearance! Wish I'd been there...

One performance down, one so dire they'll have to do it again tomorrow, two scheduled ones still to go...

It looks like a slow day in Grumptown.

I hope it's a good sign that everyone's too busy with good stuff to be grumpy.

It's Mr. Home's chess night tonight (aka Wednesday) and I'm enjoying a night of home-made super, dooper chocolate cake and watching the rest of the second season on In Treatment. Is anyone else watching it? I don't know when it's on in the UK- I downloaded it.

*leaves can of Red Bull for handy*

Morning.

I'm counting down this week as well. Mama had her blood test and it's results next week. I've also half a plan to pop over to Warsaw again. I want to get the place straight, get on top of any bills, and sort out her paperwork as she's no idea where she is with things. I could go without her and get really stuck in...

Greetings Grumpies!

Iggy: Was that your version of a drunken post?

HM: Hope your performance ordeal is over and that everything went smoothly. I notice that you're keeping some late hours these days. You must be exhausted.

BG: That sneaky trip to Warsaw might be a good idea. It's too bad that there's no way you can just "trick" her into signing over power of attorney to you. I've a couple of friends who had to resort to that in similar situations to yours. One situation involved a mother who started taking to leaving the house for a stroll with no clothes on.

SP: How did your meeting with Sadette's teachers go? I hope that she's come to her senses.

Not much going on here today. I might do some baking since we ate up all the cake last night in a late-night chocolate frenzy.

Nothing like that here yet, thank god. The other stuff is a good idea me@. To be honest, I think she'd sign anything I put in front of her, which is part of the worry. She's quite happy for me to be a *third party* on her bank account, for example, and we almost nailed that last time we popped into the bank (I didn't have enough ID ). Once that's done, I'll be able to keep an eye on her money, to make sure she doesn't give it all away.

I think I need to clarify the legal position on the power of attorney, though. I'm aware that she's in no fit state to sign legal documents, if that makes sense, so maybe I need something from the doctors to set that process off? I duuno... It just doesn't seem right that I could get her to sign it and it would hold, legally.

And I'm booked to fly off next week. Only a small mountain of paperwork stands between me and that flight.

Okay Dutch, I want you to stand up, close your eyes, then touch the tip of your nose with the index finger of your left hand.

I've just started on the PG. I'm sure I'll be catching up before too long.

Evening cyber chums! First tin just now.

I had a minor setback at my eye check-up the other day so all crossed fingers appreciated.

Fingers crossed indeed KJ.

Thought we might get to see Liverpool's wunderkind Raheem Sterling last night - wasn't he once on QPR's books?
