Hello, Pixie!

It's better for doggy in the long run, don't feel bad! He'll be fine!

Have thoroughly enjoyed reading last night's chat, folks - brightened my Monday morning no end.

Melony has started playgroup today. I've been hopping round like a cat on hot bricks, Daddy was so nervous about taking her he had to revisit the loo twice, and she, of course, pattered off happily and pitched straight into the heart of what was going on.
He hung on for about 20 min and then sloped off - hopefully for tea and cake to calm his shattered nerves!

Haha... I can picture him now, crying hot tears, nose and hands pressed against the window, while Melony waves a few times, but turns her back after 5 minutes, after promising him that she'll be there again when he comes back...

I'm still archiving pics. I have many of friends little babies but God forgive me - I don't have a clue as to the identity of some of them.

Please don't misunderstand - I' m sure I remember their birthdays, give Santa a nudge well before Christmas and I really don't think all babies look the same but I'm damned if I can discern any unique features prior to 1st birthday celebrations.

It's not difficult to determine gender - girls wear frocks, boys wear pants but head and shoulders shots defeat me.

Poor wee Merlin. He's still spaced out after his castration and removal of a lump he had on his bum at the base of his tail apparently caused by too much testosterone hence his castration at the ripe old age of 5. He would have been done when he was lots younger but Himself kept doing the man thing at any mention of it. I'm sure when he starts to feel a bit better he will be devestated his pride and joy balls are no longer there and be mortified that the vet shaved his bum

Himself took him this morning and we both went to pick him up. Himself was ignored and is still being ignored by Merlin when he has a shaky wander round the house with his lampshade on.

Well the rest of last nights bottle of rose is calling my name and #2 Slavette is on Merlin watch and making a huge fuss of him.

I shall pass on your kind words to Mr M, Socha! You rotter!

Pixie - one of my cats is called Merlin, and he had to have a lampshade collar from being bitten on the tail whils running away from a fight!
The bite went septic, so the village was treated for a few days to the sight of a black and white cat with a lampshade round his neck and a large baldie section in the middle of his tail, complete with neat bandage. He did look a state!
Hope your Merlin feels better soon!

Honestly, I can't wait for the weekend. I'm going to make a mountain of food, and I'm going to drink lots of wine, and I'm going to watch crappy telly... It's going to be bliss.

Sounds wonderful, batty!

I'm hoping I'll get ten minutes to myself somewhere between now and next Christmas...

Went to the theatre tonight. Friend had a spare ticket for a concert by The Ukulele Orchestra of GB at the Liverpool Philharmonic. Didn't think it would be my cup of tea, but it was brilliant.
This was a passing nod to George Formby's Leaning on the Lamp Post as you've never heard it before.

And this brought the house down.

They played folk songs, sea shanties, blues, even a bit of rock 'n roll - too many to mention and got a thoroughly deserved standing ovation.

I now appreciate that the uke is a mighty instrument.

I'm ignoring all needs my Big Grown Up Girls Needs. I am all frantic with worry about my wee furkid Merlin.

Himself is all " don't put the lampshade on him" - "let him know his balls aint there"...

I'#m all "NOOOOO.... he can't start slurping and licking.!"

The vet said no climbing, no jumping, no going up or down stairs, no running about nuts. We have to try and stop all this for at least 2 weeks (the vet said so).

Day 1 he was Łucked from the anesthetic and drugs = ok
Day2 he was a bit dopey but by 7am was full of the joys of life.
Day 3 has been awful. I mean you try catching a corgi in full sprint in order to stop it from running! (I know,I know, corgis are known as snappy fat lazy mutts, but corgis are fast little gits when they want to be) oh and Himself has announced pulled muscle in the leg region. Himself was a hero today as he done a tackle on merlin to stop him racing around.

All I can think of is what damage may be getting done as my daft wee dog does his thing!

Himself will be fine. It;s just dead hard to try keep our full of life furkid all calm and stuff.

The poor soul shares a home with the Slavettes and the mummy and the darling Pixie

#1 Slavette has had the whole household upside down and inside out ... looking for something she lost.

Turns out she left the blasted bag in question at a friends.

Yes, we're currently searching the house for someone's iPod. We've looked everywhere apart from the boy's room. As I'm the chief Finder of Stuff, there's an expectation I will venture in there and come out with said item. But I'm not going in there. No way. Can't make me.

Don't do it, bats!

Mine currently specialises in doing things like pushing baby doll's hat into the doll's house washing-machine and being unable to extract it. I'm sure she'll progress!

The secret to finding out what colour your teen's bedroom carpet is when you have totally forgotten, is to threaten to ground them and refuse to allow the boyfriend to visit until it's been hoovered.

Poor corgi This proves what I've always believed though - it's all lies about castration calming the b*ggers down
