Voted 15 times on the landline,3 times on my mobile & got my son to chuck in a couple of votes on his! Don't want Anita to go out with our Brendan. Loved his chest & that garage jacket
Do like Robbie but hope he goes this week.
What you said..I do like Robbie but I think he's had his time, Anita can go next week

Thoughts

Anita isn't good but needs o stay this week, partly because she is with Brendan and partly because it seems a bit unfair to Robin.

Robbie should just stand still, I like him dancing isn't his forte though

Alex was overmarked(againbut then so were a lot of others) and stayed in much too long in the swingythingy

I really like Chelsee (and never expected to) did think 8's rather than 9's but second on leader baord is pretty accurate for me

Jason can't kick without getting himself in a complete tizz

Loved Holly in the red dress,I want it! Dance was a bit odd though.Didn't like music choice

Can't stand Aliona but she did a straight quickstep which worked. In other seasons it wouldn't have scored so highly but for this one probably about right.Must have overdosed Harry on caffiene

He looked lovely! And what a lovely routine. It was all about her which is how it's supposed to be.

Lets hope he pulled in enough votes to save Anita from elimination. I don’t think that she has much further to go in this competition, but it would be dreadful if she left the week that Brendan was holding the fort for Robin...

That said, he danced beautifully tonight. He’s always breathtaking when he dances, but he really did himself (and Anita and Robin) proud this evening. And you’re right Cassie, the routine was all about Anita, with Brendan playing support like a true gent.

Basically Anita and Robbie in bottom two on dance ability, but am hoping Anita pulls through without that ordeal this week, she can go next week (like you said )

Sorry, invading from Artem's thread! I've always appreciated Brendan, I've watched him since Series 1. But since then he's been made to be the 'bad-boy' of SCD but really he's worked with some celebs who have not really been interested!

Brendan has been amazing this series! He 'worked' Holly and tonight he 'worked' Anita - he made both celebs dance! And dance they did!

Love his new hair do too!!

Lovely post!

BIB: See, I’m a SCD newbie - this is the first series that I’ve seen - so I don’t understand all these references that people make to Brendan as the ‘bad boy’ of Strictly. He seems like an absolute gent - self-depreciating, funny, happy to help out other couples…all round Mr Nice Guy. Was he not like this in previous years? In what way was he such a bad boy?

Have just popped in from the Hartem/Kartem thread to say how much i have grown to like Brendan and I thought he was lovely with Anita. I wasn't sure, even when he took over from Artem for a week, but he is a true gentleman!

Also just visiting to say how lovely your guy is. This is my first series of SCD and after Pasha (for some reason) Brendan has become my favourite male Pro. He's dignified, good humoured, and I've loved watching him dance with three different partners, offering something different to all. Lovely bloke.

Lovely post!

I have been asking myself this since years - there was never anything, he was perhaps a little outspoken on the odd occasion if he felt his partner was being unfairly and excessively criticised or when he was standing up for his fellow pros - in the form of the occasional talking back to the judges or arguments with them, but this was years ago. It seemed to be a label he was given for no real reason and it has stuck. He has always been lovely to his partners regardless of their ability, if they at least try - he didn't get on with one or two who were not interested in learning. He said Jo Wood was his favourite partner, and she was probably the least talented. They are still friends and she was at his wedding.
But since he has found Zoe, his wife, he has been glowing with happiness, it is lovely to see. And it is great that the majority have seen him for the great guy he is - with one notable exception. Apart from this one person, there has been universal positivity on the forums - this has never happened before. There is a reason why he is so popular amongst his fellow pros, he is a really nice, fun guy - not afraid to laugh at himself.

I knew the result in advance, but still felt for Brendan - he seemed to feel responsible, apologised to Anita when they were in the bottom two and again when they were eliminated - he was really upset. A pity as he had choreographed a lovely routine for Anita - but her time had come. He probably knew it could happen, in fact it was probable, but still said yes to helping her and Robin. Good he got a final dance with someone who thanked him, appreciated him and danced with him. It will be interesting what our friend has to say about the result, but at least he seems to be a lone voice this year!

Thanks for taking the time to explain that, Liz. The ‘bad boy’ tag just didn’t make any sense to me, but I think I understand a bit better now. I can quite easily see him being somewhat protective towards his partners (I suspect he’s a bit of an old school gent in that regard) and having seen pictures of him and Zoe, I can see why he’s so happy! She’s an absolute stunner!

BIB: Honestly, I think that was the worst bit of the evening for me. I had seen the spoilers - I was prepared for Anita’s exit - but poor Brendan just looked so disappointed in himself when they announced Anita’s placing. The way that he kept apologising to her, as though he had somehow let her down, just about broke my heart! I think that Brendan is his own harshest critic, but he really has no need to feel responsible for Anita’s departure. She has been a terrific contestant, but - ultimately - this was her time (although I still think that Robbie or Holly could have gone first, but that’s another post altogether…). Thanks to Brendan, she went out on a terrific performance - one of her best, I thought. She really was an ‘Up Town Girl’ tonight….pure class. He should be proud of what he managed to accomplish with her in such a short period of time.

See, as much as I like to go an about his -ahem- physical attributes, this is why I love Brendan so much. The bloke just seems like such a generous, kind-hearted soul...and Anita seemed to be genuinely fond of him. I just hope that he realises just what a wonderful performance he put on tonight.

The media and the judges have made him out to be bolshi and awkward but, in my opinion, he has never been that; he has stood up for his partners and has always been courteous, helpful and a gentleman.

His dancing was beautiful this evening, and I am very sorry that Anita will no longer be in the programme.

Agreed, although Kelly and Lisa weren't bad dancers, but I really wish him to be the first pro to ever win it twice, so I hope he keeps doing SCD at least until then.

And he looked absolutely scrumptious. I loved that pro routine he did with Pasha, now that's something a girl could dream about

No real reaction about the vote off, but I'm guessing he knew it could be in the cards, especially when they got asked to leave that swingathon thing second (that did a bit of damage to their leaderboard position...

The pro dance from the results show, I loved it:

And Brendan and Anita's dance, a lovely choreography, which Anita seemed to enjoy:
