Just thought I would pop in and let you all know that Brendan has been on Twitter tonight/this morning where he is, thanking everyone for their support over the last week.

I don't know how to do the link thing - there are about 6 tweets in a row because he had a lot to say.

Here is the link to Brendan's twitter:
http://twitter.com/thebrendan_cole

And a short article:
http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/new...e-to-good-mate

So Brendan will be flying back at the weekend and will be back teaching Michelle next week. I must say, I am a little disappointed with a couple of the threads on this forum and with some of the sentiments expressed in them.

I am very disappointed with some of the statements expressed in certain threads,I think laurab88 on TCA expressed it well

"Also gutted for Brendan, poor guy, you could totally just see he wasn't his usual self on Saturday. Annoyed with people being more "OMGZ YAY IAN IS BACK!" than worrying about what Brendan's going through
"
I feel a bit like a relic from the past when people had empathy and respect for others

Allison, that is exactly what I meant and Ian is the last person who would want anyone to think like that let alone express it openly.

Agreed with that. Some people seem to want to treat it as a competition between the two of them. I mean I'm happy Ian is Brendans stand in and everything but some people take it too far.

This is what Michelle has to say. Better to listen to her rather than trying to second-guess what she is feeling or wanted to say:

'.......She has teamed up with Ian Waite after her regular partner, Brendan Cole, flew to New Zealand to see his family following the death of his father after a long battle with cancer.

Michelle said: "We were having so much fun and then his father died which was just absolutely heartbreaking and he had to go home, but family always comes first."

She insisted she would put on a performance that made sure she was still in the show when Brendan returned.

She said: "I've come a long way from the USA, so I would be quite disappointed if I went home so early in the game. My bad boy is gone this week but I'm determined to welcome him back in with a job. Brendan is my partner and I want him to come back home knowing he's got a job."
....'

Thank you for quoting that. I am pleased to see it was not only me who was getting annoyed.

I hope Brendan returns as soon as he feels he can, and I look forward to seeing him back on the show where he belongs.

I dont usually post on the Strictly thread, I know nothing about dance, but love watching Brendan's passion for it. I had to pop on here to send my condolences to himm and family at this very sad time.

I missed watching him last night, hope he stays strong for his return.

I agree with laurab88 and alisonbrm on this. I've been disappointed by some of the comments made on this forum, which have been at best thoughtless.

I do look forward to seeing Brendan back again. I miss him. I think Ian did an excellent job standing in, and absolutely have no criticism of his behavour. He spoke very nicely of Brendan and made it clear that his role was to stand in and take care of Michelle until Brendan came back. I just wish that some of Ian's fans would follow his example.

Len is an idiot.

He gave Anne a 7 last week for the 'entertainment' of flying across the room and this week Brendan does 20 seconds of time warp whilst dancing to the time warp in a jive and he gets abused for it.

Their jive was brilliant and I am so SOOO proud of Michelle she's starting to let go and enjoy herself and with that she'll stop being so nervous and she'll be able to relax and dance. Love her and Brendan.

I can't say anything else on Len because he was just so....... I'd get banned for saying what I feel of him tonight. To be honest still annoyed about last weeks comments on Brendan when Brendan wasn't even there. Totally remember him admitting to faults before and Len ignoring him admitting to the fault to moan.

I see Len is up to his old tricks again. He has also been spiteful with the lovely Matt this year. He must just be jealous of these lovely young men. I hate him when he is like this.
