Blu Ray problem

I have a problem with my Samsung Blu Ray player. Older DVD's seem to come up 4:3 and it tries to upscale and I get flicking and jumping in the picture.

Even newer DVD's jump. The machine is hopeless as a DVD player but works fine as a Blu Ray.

Any ideas?

Try updating the software?.

Or take it back - BD players should (and do) make excellent DVD players as they upscale so well.
