The message that River gets when the Doctor is in the Pandorica, flying into the exploding Tardis.

"Geronimo"

Actually think that this was supposed to be a catchphrase, that then got edited out throughout the series, meaning that he only used it a few times. It seemed a bit wasted.

The suggestion that Dr Who has a "script" is highly amusing!

"There is nothing you can do to prevent the catharsis of spurious morality!"

Pip and Jane loved to spruce up their rubbish with a bit of sesquipedalian plebdazzlum.

Journeys End

Doc10: What've you done?

I've mentioned it before several times but it was in The End of Time: Part Two. When the Doctor is speaking to Rose in 2005, he says 'I bet you're gonna have a really great year'. It always aggravates me that he never said 'Fantastic year' as a tribute to the Ninth Doctor, afterall they chucked in everyone else from the RTD era in some way :P

I know you've said this before, and I completely agree with you, it would have made the dialogue at that point just perfect.

I didn't think of it at the time, but now when I rewatch I always see it as an opportunity lost.

Amy Pond: "Doctor, Doctor, I'm getting married in a few hours, but take me up the a**se now!!" or words to that effect. Final scene of Flesh and Stone, most embarrassing scene. Ever. What the hell was Moffat thinking??

Don't agree - quite funny and well done. Set up the next couple of episodes too. Also, at that point she didn't want to go up the aisle. That was the point. (I don't know why you've censored yourself there.)

The Doctor showing off to Ian that his view screen was in colour. Said in a "Oh yes - bet you never saw that coming!" sort of way and Ian did indeed seem surprised and delighted.

I can't remember which story now. It just seemed odd that they were standing in a spaceship (wow!) that is also a time machine (oh my lordy lord!) that is bigger on the inside (nurse, the salts!)...but you ain't seen nothin' yet - get a load of my colour TV!

I've probably misremembered this.

The most cringe worthiest scene (for me, don't judge) was the bit in The Eleventh Hour where we see Doctors 1-10 and then 11 steps out. Completely cheesy and unneccesary in my opinion. Still makes me shudder everytime I see it!

Like I said, it's just my opinion.

The Doctor was refering to this joke:

Person A - My dog's got no nose.
Person B - How does it smell?
Person A - Awful!

I agree that the Planet Barcelona stuff was cringeworthy, though.

Can't remember the actual lines, but I've always hated K’anpo explaining regeneration for the hard of thinking at the end of Planet of the Spiders (made worse because we'd already seen a regeneration in that story).

A catchphrase doesn't have to be used at every possibility opportunity to be valid, for that matter the Doctor wasn't the only one to use it (e.g. Craig in the Lodger, although he had probably deliberately taken it from the Doc's brain at that point).

I hate it in "Big Bang" where Amy tries to kiss the Doctor on her wedding day. I really dislike her.

But onto something funny. I was watching "the Chase" and when the Daleks attack the TARDIS, there guns don't work. One says "Are neutralisers do not work!" And a nonimportant Dalek shouted, "Failure!". Now I know where the internet Fail thing comes from.

Thats whats cool now right? Saying fail? Right?
Excellent. I'm cool.

Oh!!! Thanks.... Five years I've been wondering about that!

I think the scripts are extremely poor. But, is this thread about cheesy lines, or plot defects?

My fave is Eccleston saying " ...... I'm standing on the surface of the earth, travelling at 1000 miles per hour ......". which would be true on The Equator, but isn't in London!

Might be a silly question, but if you think the scripts for Dr Who are extremely poor, why are you on a Dr Who forum...?
