"The Killers" debut album
I heard them on the radio and was impressed, does anyone know if their debut album (out now) is any good?

It's fantastic, esp tracks like 'Jenny Was a Friend of Mine' and 'Mr Brightside'
Lot's of 80's influences, Cure etc - fusing the keyboards with guitars, it works really well! |

its just a great fun album. faves are *jenny was a friend of mine*, *mr brightside* and *all the things that i've done*. just saw them at glastonbury and they were great live too.
regarding all this stuff about 80s influences, the band they most reminded me off when i first heard mr brightside was the chameleons, a bizarrely unnoticed 80s band from manchester, who may in fact have influenced the cure, the smiths, james etc, and so now the killers, influenced by the cure, the smiths, james etc, have strangely ended back up at a sound much like the chameleons. anyway, if you might happen to like the killers, and many of their apparent 80s influences, you really should check out their album *script from a bridge*. look past the ridiculously 80s sleeve and title, and read the reviews at amazon : http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...114071-3868633 Iain |

All These Things That I Have Done is the song of the year so far for me! |

I love that album.. Have to agree that "Jenny Was A Friend Of My Mine" is a great opener. No faulting the two singles either.. and "Smile Like You Mean It" has to be worthy of a mention too.

I quite like the 'Somebody Told Me' track but other than that I don't really like it. The singers voice just really gets on my nerves! I don't like the vocals at all!
