Hi,
I'm just about to get a LCD tv and was wondering if there is anywhere to get a calibration dvd or software in order for me to setup the tv to get the best possible picture?

Digital Video Essentials you can buy from Play, Amazon etc on DVD. There's a Blu Ray of it also.

Alternatively as a freebie, I think is worth trying out: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=948496

You can also use the BBC-HD preview loop testcard

I found this DVD very confusing.

You get a few chapters into it and then it recommends that if you have any picture enhancement features turned on, to turn them off and go back to the first chapter and start again.

Why didn't they just tell you turn these features off in the first place???!!!

The presenter has an annoying voice and the disc is full of techno babble (anbd I'm usually good with technology).

You really need the bluray version, testing the resolution and other stuff is inadequate from a dvd source.

These shows have detailed segments explaining and demonstrating calibration
