M&S 19'' 51 Series HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview
A friend of mine had just bought one of these for the bedroom to replace his CRT TV and dedicated freeview box.
However upon plugging everything in and doing the channel scan it only finds 2 muxes even though with the same setup the old CRT TV and dedicated freeview box find everything. I have tried everything without sucess it just finds the same channels, does this sound like a problem with the built in freeview tuner? |

If it receives anything at all, then I'd say no. It just isn't as sensitive as the previous STB.
Why not plug that in and use that receiver with the new telly instead? I know it's not the best solution, but when DSO is complete in your area you may find it works fine. If you want HD though, if the telly doesn't specifically state it is Freeview HD capable, you're going to need an external STB anyway. |

The whole point of buying this was the dedicated inbuilt freeview so they did not have to use an extra remote and have a box cluttering up the place.
I just find iot off that a 3 year old freeview box is working better than a brand new tv. |

1st check that power is normal in your area from the transmitter.
You could use a power unit for your aerial so that the chip inside the TV fines the channels better and that all your channels would after the DSO as power will go up from the 10% of transmitter. The new LCD's should have better chips then old ones and work better with low power transmitter. you could find that weather changes lower channels, with rain on leaves on trees and on roofs too near by. But if you had full six muxes of freeview. But to be truthfully I would not buy a frreview TV or box with out HD with it, as it is the only way forward now and gives you 4 HD channels with built in software for most changes to come to freeview. |
