Vodafone technical problems??

i've noticed today, i cannot call any other phone except other Vodafone mobiles. all i get is the engaged tone. this happened when i tried to call my home BT landline, tried calling my Orange mobile as a test, same thing. my dad also tried to call the BT phone from his Vodafone mobile, same again... what is going on here?

There are two major network issues at the network at the moment. The first being the HLR's - HLR-H is affected - this refers to numbers that previously ported over from O2. The network are aware of this issue and will resolve it shortly. Users have full signal strength and are able to dial out, but unable to receive calls (i.e. dead tone).

Second problem is affecting all users in the Southampton and surrounding areas. The cell sites are down and again being worked on.

You heard it from the network yourself !
