Poor Nadine Coyle.
Playing second fiddle to Cheryl again. Can't even get a proper label to sign her so she signs to Tesco and now she gets turned down by a songwriter because they prefer Cheryl. OUCH!

I wish they would just record a new GA album instead of all this solo stuff and bitchy rumours flying everywhere.

LOL. Talk about seeming desperate! Tesco? Really?...Tesco? Sheesh. Wouldn't it be better for her to get back with the girls and push the band?...
...rather than signing with...Tesco. Seems a little selfish to me, even if she is the only one that can sing. A long way to go to catch up Ms Cole now. |

Everything's been organised around Cheryl but Nadine's criticised when she does her own thing. I'm not a Nadine fan particularly but I can understand why she would feel pissed off the rest of GA seem to be getting stroppy with her about her solo projects when Cheryl can do what she likes apparently. |

Echoing the message above....why does Cheryl get everyones backing, yet Nadine seems to be the one getting all the flack for pursuing the same dream? Doesn't really make sense?
A friend of mine recently said that the reason he would support Cheryl over Nadine was that Cheryl seems 'warmer' and 'gives more of herself' than the 'standoffish' Nadine??? |

Not to mention that she is obviously suffering from anorexia.

The record deal is a bit odd. Tesco only is bound to impact on her sales. You'd have thought she could get a deal anywhere.
It makes me wonder about the quality of the material - fingers crossed that it's great though

Nadine has always been naturally very slender, or she could have a coke habit or be a bit depressed or be over exercising....any number of other explanations. |

Faithless did the same deal with Tesco not long back and their album made no.2.
It's all about creative control and I imagine Nadine wants full control of her album - something that Tesco can offer her. She's probably a lot more shrewd than we think. I agree with what people have said above though - Nadine has received loads of flack as though she is the one holding back the reunion of GA, when in reality Cheryl is about to release her second album, plus has TV commitments also. There is no logic in blaming Nadine. |

I like Nadine i think shes got a great voice and if i was here i'd be a bit bum'd as well that a distinctly average girl singer has used her looks and her cheating husband to create a brand for herself.
Hopefully she'll get some big producers in on it and it will be a hit but ive a feeling she might suffer from our overdose of GA being in the news (because of cheryl) and wont get the fair hearing her album will need. |

Cheryl is still on the same label as GA, same PR as GA, same PA as GA, same manager as GA, heck - she even has the same choreographer as GA.
So even though she's releasing solo material she's still very close with the group. Nadine was offered a similar package but declined it (reportedly because they didn't offer her enough money). She then signed with Geffen who dropped her because her material wasn't strong enough and now she's with Tesco, a different manager, different label, etc. Point is Nadine is completely separated from the rest of group not only in terms of location but also label and manager wise too. It's probably better for her that way and I say well done too her, but the downside is that it does make it harder for contact and organisation with the other girls in the group. Even though Cheryl is also releasing material, being on the same label, having the same manager, etc. makes it far easier and mean she can't hold up any reunion - if the GA's label and manager want GA back, then Cheryl will have to return as she is under their 'control', Nadine however is off doing her own thing with other people. |

Nadine has actively distanced herself from the rest of GA - fair enough if they've all agreed to go off and do their own thing for a while; of course there will always be unfavourable comparisons with the revered Princess Cheryl though.
I have no idea whether Nadine may be a difficult personality to work with, but she has always had the superior voice in GA. |

I remember reading somewhere she only signed with Tesco because they were the only ones that allowed her the creative input she wanted.
Also, she is not looking for Cheryl style fame and success, she isn't that bothered about fame (hence not doing Ghosthunting, Passions etc), she wants to sing so signing with a label that will allow her to sing songs she has written/produced proves she is in it for the love of it, not the fame and money! Sure she doesn't mind the money tho! :P |

Oooh, everyone's a critic even the mods it seems! This has been removed from showbiz and put in music but Cheryl's threads are staying very firmly in Showbiz. Obviously the mods don't even think her output can be classed as music!!

It's all about creative control and I imagine Nadine wants full control of her album - something that Tesco can offer her. However the great risk is that she doesn't trust herself and lets this commercial pressure between her and Cheryl influence the type of music she makes... the only way to reach her potential is to be Nadine through and through with no attempt at imitating or even comparing herself to Cheryl. |

As bland as the blandest thing in Blandland. To say she comes across as dull is actually insulting to the word dull.
Translation = she is simply more normal than your average attention-seeking celeb. All I've heard her be is lovely, well spoken and good humoured... how dare she be so average in a world of nutjobs. If you find her dull it's just because you're measuring her in the realm of showbiz flamboyant personalities... not with everyone else... like your friends and family.... there are plenty of great singers / musicians as 'dull' as she. |

These sort of deals are quite common now. As others have said, Faithless went with Tesco and had a number 2 album. Paul McCartney released under Starbucks. Alot of albums are sold in Tescos however surely her singles will be sold on Itunes? If not then i think she'll struggle to have an actual hit single.
