Hi Guys,

I've just read a post that stated in regard to setting-up his Vision box, it was a nightmare to get working and when he did, it was then VERY dodgy.

Which got me to think.....

OMG! I've just thought of something REALLY important that you should NOT do when setting-up your Vision box.

Using power line adaptors to connect your box to your hub?

Using extension cable plug sockets?

Yes?

Then DO NOT use extension cable plug socket units that have a power surge unit built into them.

Your box won't work. Properly. And if you manage to get it going, it will be very dodgy and VERY unreliable.

Sorry if this is teaching anyone how to suck eggs.

The reason is power surge units interfere with the signal.

Power line adaptors connect your Vision box to your hub wirelessly by sending a two-way internet connection via the electrcal wiring in your home.

If you plug either power line adaptor into a power surge plug socket, your box won't work properly. If at all.

And guess what? I learnt this by experience.

When I was a new user, after a while, when I eventually realised why my box was'nt working properly and fixed it, it took my wife to stop me banging my head against a wall.

I had my upstairs adaptor plugged into my son's spare PC plug sockets, next to the hub, which had power surge built into them.

Ah well, live and learn!
