What are we talking about here - lip synch? Or something else.

The Onkyo, no doubt, allows you to adjust the amount of delay between pictures and sound. But you might need to look at the manual to work out how to do it.

Which Onkyo is it? What is the exact nature of the problem? How is everything connected up? What is the source component? Have you tried reading the manual?

hi rob thanks for the reply mate and yes sorry its lip synch, its the 607 model, and what happening is when i fast forward a recorded program from sky the peson talking on screen speaks then the sound comes through a second or two after. the sky box is connected through a hdmi lead and also more recently an optical lead going from the sky box too the amp. I have looked in the manual but wasnt really sure what i was looking for, and what to do to be honest, as im not that technical savvy. it seems to have got worse since ive connected through the optical lead, but it was also doing it through the hdmi when it was just that, but not all the time like it is now. any tips or pointers in the right direction on what to do would be much appreciated.

I've had similar problens with my Samsung TV and Onkyo amp. I altered the lag settings in the Sky box which improved but didn't cure the problem. So having googled for previous lip sync problems on the Sky Forum here and others I resolved it by unplugging Sky box, removing card and restting the box. It still happens from time to time particularly after watching recorded programmes.

Sorry I can't help further. If it is only in one particular mode on the Sky box, and it is fine during normal live transmissions, then that suggests to me that the Sky box has a problem. I don't have sufficient Sky STB experience to help you repair it.
