I think they might be thinking of the FoxSat HDR which is very bright

The title and forum choice does suggest we are talking about the HDR.

If the OP is experiencing a very dim display when everyone else thinks its very bright then it could be that he has a faulty display (or something blocking some of the light).

The title does but the forum less so. Media and Digital TV Forums > Terrestrial > Personal Video Recorders > ...

Did a mod move it?

I have a folded piece of blue translucent plastic (cut from a folder) trapped behind the front flip panel to subdue the light on my Foxsat. Maybe they took in the feedback about it being too bright and went too far the other way on the Fox T2?

My Pioneer Blueray player has got it right by offering three level of brightness plus off with it always being off in standby. I have it set to low when in use.

Sorry, my mistake. I missed the 'foxsat' bit and thought the implication was we might have been discussing the HD Fox T2 (non-HDR freeview version).

Ah, np. What's the remote response like on the Freeview box? The HDR is poor even though I've removed all the anti-scratch film. I've pretty much got to point the remote at the box

I don't think manufacturers always get how irritating details like that frustrate their customers. There is a flap on the front of the Foxsat-hdr making the ir sensors field of vision narrow. I forget that I used to keep the flap down on my Foxsat-HDR so I didn't have to get off my butt to use the remote control within the narrow field in the boxes IR sensor I did eventually find that I could point the remote at another wall where the angle was just right . Back to the HDR-Fox for freeviewHD, they've eliminated that problem thankfully

Request to Humax for future Fox T2 updates to allow the brightness of the display to be increased via the settings menu. It is as good as useless in daylight!

Is there any Humax presence on these forums? Anyway to feedback?

I got in touch with Humax about this and they said that they were sorry but nothing can be done to make the display brighter, must agree, it is way too dim.
