pizza express chilled is really nice, on offer at Sainsburys half price for £1.99 quite often aswell. (Wouldnt get it at full price but im stingy haha). I usually buy the magarita with the cubed cheese and then add a can of tuna, some sweetcorn and olive oil into the oven for 9-10 minutes and comes out just as nice as you would get in a resteraunt!

Pizza Express "American" or "Sloppy Guiseppe" is very nice, also the other day I had a "Spicy Meat Deluxe" from Morrissons which was much nicer than I thought it would be (they claim the bases are semolina dusted or something), so the base tasted like a takeaway/Pizza Hut kinda pizza. I really liked it
Morrisons pizzas are good, IMO
Shame Morrisons dont do Pizza Express chilled for 1/2 price anymore The large ones used to be £2.49 sometimes, now the smaller ones are £4.99.

Was thinking of using Pitta bread or Baguette for a base, anyone tried this or can recommend a ready made base?

Ah, French bread pizza. It was a big thing years ago.

Another option is to use mini stotties.

A quick and easy recipe for a pizza that reminds me of school is a minni stottie topped with a mixture of tomato puree and ketchup and cheddar & diced onion.
It doesn't taste like a normal pizza because the base is not what you expect, the sauce is overly tomatoey and it's a strong cheddar taste instead of mild mozzarella.

i am all for spending as little as possible, but when it comes to putting something in my mouth, I'd rather spend a tenner or so on a domino.

Try this for the base.

500g strong white bread flour
1 sachet of yeast
3 tbsp olive oil
100-150mls of water(luke warm)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
Put the flour in a large bowl and make a well in the centre.Add the yeast olive oil and salt and slowly add the water. You may need more or less water it varies every time but just enough to bring the dough together.Once combined put on a floured surface and knead for about two minutes.(thats all it takes).now break off the size you need and roll out to the size of pizza you want.Place the dough on an oiled piece of strong tin foil and top with your choice of toppings. If you can get bertolli tomato and basil sauce use that for the sauce.(really tasty but dont put too much on).i then use some mature cheddar, topping of your choice and finish with some fresh mozzerella.slice the mozzerella thinly and scatter over the pizza.Drizzle the pizza with olive oil and a sprinkle of black peeper and put the pizza on the foil into the oven as hot as your oven goes for around 8 minutes.I forgot to mention roll the dough quite thinly and it should come out nice and crispy.Give it a try guys,it doesnt take long at all and beats any supermarket or take-away pizza.

the flour, yeast and cheddar and mozzerella will cost you less than a fiver and you can make a good few out of it so its not really any more expensive to make your own, just more tastier.Only drawback is the dough can leave you in a bit of a mess.

The recipe above is the equivalent of a whole loaf of bread!

A third of these quantities will give you a good sized base without having any dough left.

There is a stigma attached to Iceland, and in most cases it is justified, but I can back you up and say they're fantastic, and i am a bit of a pizza connoisseur. Better than one i had recently from Sainsburys that cost £4something.

I don't buy supermarket own brand ones but the Dr Oetker Ristorante range is one of my personal favourites for pizzas and is the main one I always buy now.

I have just noticed Dr Oetker, the brand of the great frozen 'Ristorante' pizza's has launched a new type of pizza.

They are called 'Case di Mama'.

These are half price in Tesco at the moment too I think, but I forget to get one today. Has anyone tried this?

Dr Oetker funghi pizzas are the only frozen pizzas i buy. I'd rather order pizza than cook it at home.

I love Dominos pizzas but they are so expensive. Otherwise I'd go for Dr Oetkers frozen pizzas - they are all very nice and more-ish! I was extremely surprised how gorgeous the funghi one was, very tasty for a mushroom pizza.

I like Icelands Bolognaise pizza - quite a good amount of topping on them . I've also had Asdas fresh ones where you pick your own toppings which are nice as well and are not a bad price.

Last week I bought a Pizza Express "Sloppy Giuseppe" from a local supermarche... It was the most disgusting pizza I have ever had, and it's kind of put me off pizzas now.

It's a shame because the week before I had one of the nicest pizzas I have ever had, from the restaurant chain ASK. It was their "Estiva". Apparently it's cooked as a standard tomato and mozzarella, then the toppings are put on afterwards... Proscuito, baby mozzarella & fresh rocket, and finished off with a drizzle of chilli oil. Heaven on a plate!!

We have about 12 in the freezer as they were half-price in Sainbury's recently. My wife's fave is Funghi, basically mushroom topping.
