ok guys bought one of these TVs and its great

Freeview HD is nice and sharp on it. Tora Tora Tora was really sharp on CH 4 HD as well as CH 4 on normal freeview

however I would like to try and play DiVx wireless from laptop to TV. Do I have to put it on a USB stick or can I stream it at all from laptop to telly

I do have a xbox 360 and I could do it through it using windows media player as I have windows 7

I have found the Code for registering my telly.

Maybe I need an external hard drive , wireless that I could store all my stuff on so only one device on to play the file rather than laptop/ xbox ?

or can the telly if connected through USB ; like on direct record to a hard drive play DIVx or do you need a standalone player ?

The Panny will natively play DivX (and XVid) files so it is upto you if you stream through your Xbox.

As long as you have a DLNA media server of some sort you can connect and stream, I use Twonky. Although my TV is connected by ethernet cable to my router my PC is linked by wifi and I don't have any problems. I believe Panasonics own USB wifi dongle is quite expensive, you can't just plug any wifi dongle into it. There are alternatives with greater flexibility such as Buffalo's nfiniti.

If you want to stream HD content wirelessly then you do need an 'n' standard system.
