What are your Who DVD/Video viewing habits?

The other night on one on the threads we were discussing about if we watched The Evil Of The Daleks again, after the sequence at the end of The Wheel In Space, having probably not watched it not long before when we watched Season 4.

I personally never make the effort to watch it again to be truly with the programme as it happened whilst watching it through in order. It's too long and too soon. However, I always watch Shada after The Horns Of Nimon, I even sneak in Dimensions In Time and The Curse Of The Fatal Death at the appropriate times as well!!!!

So was wondering what other people's viewing habits are when watching Who through on Video and DVD? Do you watch Evil Of The Daleks between Seasons 5 and 6? Do you perhaps take a break between Seasons for a while? Or maybe you don't watch them in order at all. I have a friend who has actually watched Doctor Who stories in reverse, now that is strange!!!

I just pick and choose the stories I fancy. Recently, I've watched "Destiny of the Daleks" plus the extras from "Logopolis" (again). If I'm in the mood for something, I'll watch it - I've never had the desire to watch them all in transmission order.

You don't need to watch them in order, I was just asking how people watched Doctor Who on Dvd and video. Everyone has a different way of doing it, that's why I asked the question!!!

I tend to watch them every now and again, and I go through phases of Pat Troughton stories......Then Jon Pertwee the following week, it might be William Hartnell next etc. Actually I think its about time to move onto Chris Eccleston soon...

I don't watch them in any sort of order at all. Every once in a while I look through my collection and think "I haven't seen that one in a while" and so I pop it in my DVD player. That's how I started watching Seeds Of Death yesterday night

Actually I'm very much the same, and some stories I have seen quite a few times, and others I haven't. I can't watch them in order anyway, as I don't have all of them. However, what I'm watching depends on my mood (and if I'm feeling melancholic - which normally means I need to watch a Sylvester McCoy one)

Why doesn't that surprise me Sis?!!

Actually I think it's good just to pick a story out at random. I haven't watched that many just lately as I've watched them all within the last year, but every now and again I get the urge to put a DVD on.

*Looks through collection for Planet Of Fire*

Now that doesn't surprise me one little bit. I'll join you if it is with Colin Baker.

when I get my latest new release I tend to just watch the extras first and more often then not will then watch the story at a later date. Personaly I prefer to just watch things at random if It's a 4 parter I will watch it in one sitting a 6 parter or more I tend to watch it over the course of a couple of days.

I was given the box set of series 1-4 (NuWho) and the Blu-ray specials for christmas and I must confess I haven't even opened them yet!!!.

But reading through this thread has given me the urge to start watching them before the new series comes out on Blu.

I just watch stories I feel like watching at the time.
I remember suddenly getting the desperate urge to watch Talons of Weng Chiang right in the middle of my mock exams, having not watched any Dr Who for months before that.
I was getting quite frustrated during one particular exam, and as soon as it was over I hurried home in the snow, turned the heating on, shut the curtains, crawled under a blanket and watched it by myself. Good times.

Didn't do so well in that exam though.

Wouldn't it have been great if your exam was on mysterious disappearances in Victorian london, or big life-zappers of Victorian London?!!!

I have a real urge at the moment to dig out a DVD, thing is, if I do that, will make me want to watch all the others as well!
