How excited are you this year (on a scale of 0 to 10)?

I told myself I wasn't going to be excited this year but must have watched the trailer on heatworld about 20 times already so I clearly am! I think about 9
Ballroom-B.

I thought I wasn't overly excited (sort of 4/10 level), but then this morning I was so busy thinking about SCD and dancing in general that I potentially shampooed my hair three times.
I think that might rank off the scale in terms of excitement when normal life is lost over the plot of a tv show.

I'm looking forward to it but much of my enjoyment came from watching the fantastic Mr Cutler and I'm not sure how much thats going to impact the experience.

Big fat zero for me at the moment; this is the first time I visited this forum since last December.

I used to be one of the regulars here and was really into some earlier series of SCD, but I can't see myself getting hooked this year unless some couples turn out to be really good from the outset.

I will watch the first show, but I think things might have got to the point where the negatives (Tess, Bruce, Alesha, Len, inconsistent/over-marking, and rubbish dancing) have started to outweigh the positives.

(and the absence of both Matt Cutler and Ian Waite [as a competitor] is a big negative too)

I am going to sit on the fence, on this one. I am looking forward to the new series. The new format will be interesting and see how it all pans out. I am going to miss Brian, Ian, Matthew etc.

Will what people are saying about the new format. I just say, Wait and see what happens and what it is like before criticising it.

I am looking forward to It Takes Two returning. As I LOVE Claudia.

I'm up to about 3/10 I'd say. I've just had a gamble in the hopes that it might help me support my chosen pro and celeb and get into the new series more!

I'm not going to bother with ITT any more.

How bad is it when you're haunting the forum because you want to know what happens, but really don't want to watch the show?

I wasn't aware that there was a new format.

What I might do tonight is only watch the dances and/or mute/sub-title everything apart from the dancing. There's so much about SCD that I really can't stand anymore...

I like to watch the ocassional group dance but it was group dance overload tonight. Fortunately I froze it while I had my dinner and was able to fast forward through about 70% of the show.

Once the dancing starts proper then I hope it will be a better show. Time will tell.

Now?

9/10.

I'm excited! SCD isn't perfect, and it has many flaws, but it's a yearly tradition and I'll keep watching and looking forward to it for as long as it's on.

Set was too loud, lights hurt my eyes, the 'dance troupe' was an insult and an embarrassment, Bruces jokes are beyond a joke now.

The wires, the Ann and Anton thing, getting rid some of the best and most beloved dancers (while keeping the 'characters' who are not up to scratch) tells me its going to be about entertainment and theatrics this year with little focus on the dancing.

I give it a 2/10 and that 2 comes from the smidgeon of excitement about Flavia and Jimi.

Its a 10 for me, love it already. Cannot believe what CRH said about Kristina. I thought I read last year that she had a reputation but that was harsh on such a big show. She took it well. Then again maybe its my opinion of her on a subconscious level that's clouding my judgement. MIAOW

Am now a 10, all is not lost for my favourite pros, have picked my favourite pairings, and am so happy to see the pro dancers perform again. Fabulous

Well I am at about a 12 !!!!! Some of the pro group dances bits could have been better but I am putting that down to nerves on the part of the new ones.....they know a lot is expected of them and the pressure must have been very tough.

I enjoyed the show a lot and cant wait for the show proper to start........ofcourse Bruce is still annoying etc but what the heck its started again.

I'm about 5/10, purely because they have better celebs this year. I thought the pro group dances were poor, not very good choreography, especially Flavia and Vincent dangling from the ceiling. Hopefully the standard of pro dancing will improve, but I think I have been spoilt in the past by the excellence of the original pro dancers.

A big fat Zero - No Matt Cutler, No Ian Waite ( I disregard the poxy showtruope), the disgusting way they got rid of Brian Fortuna.... And NO LILLIA. as Craig would say an absolute disaster.

Are the Beeb trying to atone for Arlene's departure? They are really scrapping the barrel this time.

Paul Daniels, Ann Widdicome, Pamala Stephenson and Felicity Kendall...all entitled to a free bus pass come on BEEB get a bloody grip

I am now 8 out of 10. Two points lost for not having Matt and Brian and keeping ruddy Alesha.

I have to say though, has anything on SCD looked as ridiculous as the heigh difference between Ann and Anton? How the heck are they going to dance?

They are a novelty act.
The whole thing was like Sherbert Fizzles interpreted through the medium of dance.

Was an 8, after the show yesterday it's a 9. Very excited indeed.

Haven't looked for another predictions thread yet, but

1: Goldie & Kristina
2: Felicity & Vincent
3: Matt & Aliona
