Could be that it only works thru the TalkTalkTV system. But have you plugged in an aerial and tried to scan for Freeview channels? Do you have an aerial that is capable of picking up Freeview in your area? Do you get Freeview in your area?

So many questions

Yes, I believe that the box has to be connected to TalkTalk for it to initialise - therefore, unfortunately, unless you sign up for the TV service, it's almost certainly not going to work, sorry..

Unfortunately it's a bit more complicated than that as you need a special router which is compatible with the digibox.

Then you have to have a line which is capable of supporting the data rate required to handle the telly.

And that's if Tiscali/TalkTalk will even admit to the existence of the TV service in the first place..

If you can tick all the boxes however it's an excellent service - and no, I don't work for Tiscali/TalkTalk/Carphone Warehouse..

How do you get new freeview channels through Talk Talk TV? We have QVC,bidtv and those kind of channels but we're yet to pick up challenge. I've taken the ariel out the back and put it back in but challenge hasn't appeared yet.

I don't think that Challenge is broadcasting yet. I have nothing in the 20 slot where Virgin/ChannelOne was, and have just rescanned my Panasonic TV on your behalf - and consequently had to suffer the insult of seeing all those porn channels rushing at me

I see. It's on MuxA, which also carries BidTV so you should get it. It is sullying my TV as we speak

Have you rescanned?

MyTV
TV Settings
DTT Scanning

Do I remember that TT doesn't necessarily carry all Freeview channels?

I was wondering how you properly scanned for freeview channels.

Anyway, done a rescan twice and challenge dosen't appear on the freeview list.

I'm not certain but it may be that TT doesn't take all Freeview channels Someone else may know.

Oops, I already said that

It's certainly the case that for contractual & copyright reasons TTTV isn't able to carry all the Freeview channels.

Our Freeview-capable TV can receive Challenge without any problem but as yet the TalkTalk+ box hasn't presented it to us.

Given that it's a replacement for Virgin/Channel One I'd have thought that it's likely that it should eventually appear on the TT service. IIRC it's taken a while for new/replacement Freeview channels to show up in the past -perhaps as a result of the aforementioned copyright difficulties..?

Whilst you do have to wade through a whole shedload of porn/shopping channels to get to it, it's quite nice to have Challenge for old episodes of Bullseye..
