I'm really looking forward to this. Always been fond of these guys no matter what they did anyway.

Heard The Immortals, PickUp Truck, Mary and obviously Radioactive.
Radioactive is just what I wanted to hear from them, but the rest really not sure on, they were live tracks and the sound wasn't great.
Just hope it's a step up from OBTN, started to get on even my nerves after a while being played live.

Appeared on cyberspace today. Was really hoping for a massive step up from OBTN, unfortunately it appears they've made a record to send people to sleep.

It feels all like one, long track, together. I wouldn't even call it bad, just very boring.

Hmm... don't want to actually listen to anymore tracks until it lands on the doorstep. Best song on the album?

It's hard for me to say. I was really willing them to produce after the disappointment of OBTN, but it didn't at all really for me.

The only track I could say was more noticeable than the rest was No Money.

And what's this Pony Up sound like? Odd title for a song, even from them.

Starts off with quite a good bass riff. Kind of kill it with the guitar riff that comes in though.

I think it's called Pony Up because they use that instrument that sounds like Ponies/Horses hooves (great musical terminology by me ) It kind of builds up with out any climax leaving you waiting for something else.

When I heard the bass riff as the intro, I thought it was going to be a real stand out moment to liven the album, but then they just sedated it with a generic guitar riff.

Hmmm.. Matthew and Jared obviously came up with that idea!!! Really want to hear what's that like? this now, sounds erm.. unique!!!!

And "The End" what's that like as a opener?

I found The End incredibly boring. I almost stopped listening after that first track.

OBTN at least had Closer and Crawl which had me hooked enough to carry on listening, but it would have been very easy to turn off after this first track.

So yeah, not my favourite

That was the best thing about OBTN, Crawl especially hooked you in. Shame it then went onto Sex On Fire.

You might well love it, I hope you do, it's just really let me down. I used to be a K.O.L fanatic, these two records though

Hopefully... maybe it's a grower? Wasn't keen on BOTT and now it's my favourite Kings album

Just about to listen to the album now. Was a big fan of their older stuff but not so much now. Still interested to hear this though.

Very very dull isn't it. I'm up to Back Down South and it's all so slow and dull.

Yeah, i wouldn't even want to insult it, the only thing you could say is how boring it is. Back Down South makes me cringe so much.

I don't mind No Money and Mary, but that's about it really.

Pretty much gonna echo peoples sentiments, this album is very boring.. I mean the last record wasn't great but kind of got unfair treatment because a) it was compared to 3 previous albums which were almost flawless b) was the album that propelled them to superstardom even though it was their weakest. that pretty much got their hardcore fans like myself kind of annoyed which to be fair is quite natural.

But this album is a HUGE stepdown from Only By The Night which in turn is a huge stepdown to because of the times. I expected this album to split opinion but I'm having trouble even wondering whether their old and post sex on fire fans would get this.

the only song there which is quite good is pony up.. this band have diluted their sound way too much. i thought they'd bring out an album that would satisfy their old fans with the rawness of their first 3 albums but also incorporate the sort of radio friendly tunes aswell but this album has none of that. very disappointing

5/10

Damn, gonna have to log onto the forum and see what everyone saying, Radioactive really had my hopes up.

Edit, going to listen now after reading what everyone saying.

Listened a few times now. Oh heck.
Firstly :
The End, love this, really love it, probably the best song on the album and definitely the song have listened to the most on the album.
However awful choice for a opener, maybe needed to be Radioactive out of the songs they have on here.
Radioactive, Well everyone knows this. Amazing.
Pyro, The name suggested this could be a big tune, just isn't. Can imagine this will be loved by some SOF fans.
Mary, Never liked this even from early live recordings. Nope.
The Face, Sadly not about that A-Team member from the 80's, it's a grower.
The Immortals, Another grower, possible single release maybe?
Back Down South, "Come out and dance if you get the chance" Enough said. In the days of "Aha Shake Heartbreak" back down south would have been innuendo for oral.
Beach Side, Very poppy. Shake those tambourines!!
No Money, Def a single release, one of the best on the album.
Pony Up, No opinion yet about this.
Birthday, Again no real opinion about this, want to like it.
Mi Amigo, Really catchy. Does Caleb sing "She wants my asshole?" Can anyone confirm this?
PickUp Truck, Another grower. Good song to end on.

Overall ATM 6/10 with the possibility of getting used to it and enjoying more. Not as angry as was expected or wanted. Last night didn't enjoy so much, needs a few listens. The End is the big stand out track.

Not listened to it yet but I like the leading single. I pre-ordered this album from Amazon, and I've had high hopes for it.

Other albums by KOL have been great.

I wouldn't even say this was their worst record, OBTN was the record that destroyed everything I liked about them.

As others have said, this was a chance for them to step up massively from OBTN but it's just a record that doesn't do anything.
