The Birthdays one you mention sounds very much like Clinton's Cards, which had an identical offer (buy one £15, get another half price). Probably the same store, or another part of the group. They certainly sound similar.
Personally, rather than risk someone posting it to me via an eBay deal, I'd prefer getting it for sure there and then in store with the till receipt that shows the card has been validated.
The thing is I've only spent about £20 on iTunes apps in six months (using a £25 card purchased with £12.50 of Tesco Clubcard Rewards points in a clubcard promotion), and now I've got another £15 card and not really wanting to buy many more apps that I use frequently.
I'm not really sure what I'll spend the rest of the credit on as I've now bought everything I used to use frequently for free. Which is try before you buy as it was intended, even if the trial is from a third-party. I've rewarded the app developers by buying their apps, even if it took some time for me to do so
