Rizzoli & Isles UK TV station pickup?

Anyone know if any U.K. TV channel purchased the new series "Rizzoli & Isles"?

Thanks.

With the current crop of US crime series not yet picked up by UK channels. Cant see it happening until a season 2 is green light and even then its a low option.

I don't think it's been picked up yet but it's been renewed for a second season so it may well get picked up before season 2 airs next year.

I love Rizzoli & Isles. But it would be just marketed as a modern Cagney & Lacey to the UK viewers.
Its far better in my opinion.

I'd like to see it on Living or possibly Hallmark. I can't imagine one of the bigger channels picking it up.

I've just started watching it and I love it. Would be good to see it picked up here but can't imagine that happening for a while!

Considering it was a huge hit on US TV this year, pulling in awesome viewing figures for a first series, we can only hope it'll be picked up here.

I watched it online and though I'm not a fan of 'cop shows' this one was worth watching. The two leads work great together. In fact the whole cast make this more than just the same old cop show we're used to seeing from the states.

I thought the whole season was pretty good, well not good at all really, I could see how awful it was, but I still loved it, it has it's good points!. yes I watched it online in a few nights. so shoot me.

Some of the stories are a little stupid really. But really good fun as well. mainly becuase of the characters.
I do like shows such as Law and order, but they are a bit serious for me at times.

And as For Harmon saying that Stupid people could not like the show. come off it. Any meat headed moron could enjoy this program, it's not exactly had me racking my brains with every episode. It's not the type of program where it really matters who the killer is. it's mainly about the banter between Rozzoli and Isles.
If you are interested in it for the crime aspect, then you will be a bit dissapointed. Only episode that I found slightly harrowing was the Pilot episode.
The final was good, but really rushed. I felt, should have been a two parter.
Nice cliff hanger.

I like the characters and some of the writing. But I feel like it could be a lot better and I want it to be, becuase it has a good cast.

And as for Isles,

She's very calm when her life is being threatened. Yet she goes into hysterics over small things. I think she may be slightly autistic. :confused

Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy get even more viwers in the US and look how terrible they were treated in the UK and considered a flop!

A news article was posted on TVShowsOnDVD in the week about the first season of Rizzoli & Isles. It's being released on Region 1 on Tuesday 7th June, 2011.

I'm hoping this series gets picked up by a UK channel. It's one of the new Canadian and US TV shows which I've wanted to see. I thought that as it's shown with The Closer on TNT in the US, that it would also be shown in the UK on More 4 (which The Closer is shown on).

Starts September 2011 on Alibi (as mentioned before)

Looking forward to this as I have read all the Tess Gerritsen books that these characters come from. I hope they are as I have pictured them!

I wouldn't get your hopes up - I love the books and the tv series but they are to my mind completely different animals - the books are a lot darker with little humour, the friendship between R & I is a lot deeper and funnier in the tv show too

Thanks Jason for that. I have been wondering if R & I would come to our screens, and am glad that Alibi has it. Now, if only we could get Alibi to buy White Collar, I would be a happy bunny...

I'm glad it's finally being shown in the UK. Been looking for a new show to watch and I've been interested in watching this but wanted to wait till it came to the UK. I'm happy there's at least 3 seasons, got plenty to watch. I forget the name of the lead actresses so they go by Kate from NCIS and the evil agent from an episode of Chuck

Am chuffed that Rizzoli & Isles is FINALLY being shown in the UK.

Be prepared for the fact that tv series!Isles is very different to book!Isles. I mean, they're both absolutely great characters in their own ways, but looks-wise and personality-wise they're very different. Rizzoli's also slightly different than I imagined her, but I'm not sure how much of my own image of her is from the books or from my head (if that makes sense)!

It also doesn't really follow the plots of the books beyond the pilot, but I've still really enjoyed it!

A great series that I definitely recommend and I can't wait until it comes to Alibi.

Grrrrrr - I hate it when the tv characters are different from how they are described in the books.
Maura Isles is very dark haired, blue eyed and pale skinned, with a serene professional, almost aloof manner - so we get Sasha Alexander (nothing against the actress, loved her in NCIS)

Jane Rizzoli is short (ish), wiry and short curly haired.....................

Ho hum
I'll give it a chance as I grew to like the Temperance Brennan in Bones, even though she was nothing like the book character.

Those are the exact reasons that I put off watching it for a year, but I did more or less get over it once I started watching (Until I started re-reading Body Double and found myself getting a bit annoyed at the tv series again!). The fact that Sasha and Angie are so good at playing their characters does help!

Reading about it in tv times. It says there is lots of gore, its not for the squeamish. How bad is it gore wise?
